Freebird Posted January 3, 2017 #1 Posted January 3, 2017 I got up yesterday morning, got all packed up and hit the road. I'm in Pennsylvania this week on business. Here's the thing though, just as I was getting close to my hotel, I stopped to see a customer in the area and they were closed. They were observing the New Year holiday on Monday since it fell on a Sunday. It was then that I remembered that Monday was a holiday for us also. Dang...I worked on my day off. Oh well....I'm thinking I'll recover it somewhere down the road.
CaseyJ955 Posted January 3, 2017 #2 Posted January 3, 2017 Oh no! It must have been nice and early too? Its just an exercise, ya know, to stay ready and sharp!
Flyinfool Posted January 3, 2017 #3 Posted January 3, 2017 See what happens when you spend too much time with this bunch of misfits............
Yammer Dan Posted January 3, 2017 #4 Posted January 3, 2017 Back when I was doing Line Construction I went to work on a Sunday morning. Had truck loaded and ready to go. Started wondering where everyone was. Turned on radio. Sunday morning preachers....Started putting things together!!
slowrollwv Posted January 3, 2017 #5 Posted January 3, 2017 LOL! With the last ten days off I got up a little late this morning, so I called in and took another day off.
Venturous Randy Posted January 3, 2017 #6 Posted January 3, 2017 That's the thing about being retired, I have to look at my phone or laptop to see what day it is and that is to see if either of us have any Dr appointments for the week. Other than that, just kind of float along. Randy
cecdoo Posted January 3, 2017 #7 Posted January 3, 2017 Can't say I ever showed up for work a day early, but if ya ever get to the eastern part of Pa. let me know, I'll buy ya dinner!! Enjoy your day off!! Craig

BlueSky Posted January 3, 2017 #9 Posted January 3, 2017 Perhaps a lot of us can't wait for the holidays to be over and to get back to normal! That's one thing nice about retirement. The day of the week and the time of day matters much less!
ragtop69gs Posted January 3, 2017 #12 Posted January 3, 2017 I know the feeling Don, I did the same today thinking school resumed today, NOPE ! Called boss and he says dummy ! We don't go back till Wednesday . At least I only had an 8 mile drive. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
camos Posted January 4, 2017 #13 Posted January 4, 2017 Working Evening shift is just as bad. You go into work one day and come home the next and before you know it you don't know which day is which. If you really want to get messed up try working evenings and then nights and then evenings and then nights.... Never know what day of the week it is and too often don't know if it's getting to be morning or getting to be night.
WildBill1 Posted January 4, 2017 #14 Posted January 4, 2017 I've done that found it like being stuck in a revolving door.
bongobobny Posted January 4, 2017 #15 Posted January 4, 2017 Yet another good reason to be retired!!!
camos Posted January 4, 2017 #16 Posted January 4, 2017 I've done that found it like being stuck in a revolving door. For me it is more like perpetual jet lag. Yet another good reason to be retired!!!Indeed! There are many good reasons to be retired, unfortunately, due to circumstances arising from bad choices in my past, I may never be able to retire. While it is not quite as much fun, it is possible to vicariously enjoy the retirement activities of others.
GAWildKat Posted January 5, 2017 #17 Posted January 5, 2017 I retired at 26 on disability. It sucks. I wish I could still work. I feel I missed my best working years. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk

WildBill1 Posted January 8, 2017 #19 Posted January 8, 2017 Don, you are a deacated professional. Or has wackie weed been legalized in Ohio.
snyper316 Posted January 9, 2017 #20 Posted January 9, 2017 Don, you are a deacated professional. Or has wackie weed been legalized in Ohio. Wackie weed; is that some kind of new herb? I will stick with Mary when needed I know what that herb does. It is kind of legal here if you don't mind the $500.00 Maximum tax for having it on you then it has to be less then 10gms which is a class D misdameanor with no jail time. Now if you really want to enjoy yourself and have 10-35gms on you then your looking at a class A misdameanor.
Yammer Dan Posted January 9, 2017 #21 Posted January 9, 2017 WAIT A MINUTE!!! :Avatars_Gee_George:Loosing your mind??? When did you find it???
