10spd Posted December 27, 2016 #1 Posted December 27, 2016 Does any one know if Harbor Freight sells a carb sync tool? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
M61A1MECH Posted December 28, 2016 #2 Posted December 28, 2016 Nothing even close on their website. This is what most are using for Ventures, http://www.carbtune.com/
vzuden Posted December 28, 2016 #3 Posted December 28, 2016 I have been using this on all multi carb bikes for several years: Emgo 84-68594. A google search will produce several places selling them

Kybigmac Posted December 28, 2016 #8 Posted December 28, 2016 Put me down for it if the others fall through!
uechi kid Posted December 28, 2016 #10 Posted December 28, 2016 I have been using this on all multi carb bikes for several years: Emgo 84-68594. A google search will produce several places selling them I also use a set of vacuums gauges like the Emgo 84-68594. These work very well.
10spd Posted December 28, 2016 Author #11 Posted December 28, 2016 I decided to take it. it is cheaper than having a shop do it.
Carbon_One Posted December 28, 2016 #13 Posted December 28, 2016 I use a set similar to the Emgo gauges Here's a link on EBay -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-MOTORCYCLE-4-CYLINDER-CARBURETOR-SYNCHRONIZER-TUNER-5MM-6MM-/302156960566?hash=item4659f55336:g:bRoAAOSwo4pYRDVy&vxp=mtr I've found these to be a bit more accurate than the Carb Tune type and very easy to use This link even comes with a carry case. What I have is more like the following kit I have, though mine didn't come with the tire spoons. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vacuum-Carburetor-Synchronizer-carb-sync-Gauge-3-Spoon-Motorcycle-Tire-Levers-/391655319777?hash=item5b3079e8e1:g:tbQAAOSwZJBX~Uke Larry
bongobobny Posted December 29, 2016 #14 Posted December 29, 2016 Myself I have the gauges but for my tastes, they are not sensitive enough IMHO for super close balancing...
Carbon_One Posted December 29, 2016 #15 Posted December 29, 2016 Myself I have the gauges but for my tastes, they are not sensitive enough IMHO for super close balancing... You need the gauge sets with adjustable valves to get fluctuations steady. Jay / Ragtop did several carb syncs at Don's MD last year using my gauges. Thought your bike was one of them? For what its worth IMO gauges are still better than sticking sticks. Larry
bongobobny Posted December 29, 2016 #16 Posted December 29, 2016 No, it is not an issue of them bouncing around, if anything they are a little sluggish and read low. Etcswjoe did my carbs with his "sticks" at MD...
chabicheka Posted December 29, 2016 #17 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) My offer still stands... Hey Bob.. .Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Becky. I also have a Carbtune I had ordered from England and never even opened the box. Don't need it anymore since I now have fuel injected bike. Same price. Can hold it for you if you still need one, till we meet again. Don't like the mailing hassles. ( Custom forms etc). Abdul. Edited December 29, 2016 by chabicheka
Flyinfool Posted December 29, 2016 #18 Posted December 29, 2016 Don't multi cylinder EFI bikes still need to be synced, unless they are running a common throttle body setup? The sync only gets all of the throttle plates to open at the same time so all cylinders are working equally has nothing to do with fuel air mixture. :confused24:
Pegasus1300 Posted December 29, 2016 #19 Posted December 29, 2016 The carbTune is sold to 10spd. ASAP he lets me know the address where he wants it sent,it will be gone.

Am not very mechanical minded. Don't know why I even ordered it, in first place. I just like buying stuff.
vzuden Posted December 30, 2016 #21 Posted December 30, 2016 The vacuum gauges are also able to be calibrated. I used a new set a few times and wasn't really happy with the results. Then I realized they could be calibrated and that made a huge difference

We won't be at Saddlebum's M&E but if Father Time does another March one we will probably be at that one. I will pay you in person!

Larry I also did a carb sync with carbon one's gage set, much better then carb tune. with that being said, the carb tune gets the job done. But not as accurate.
