OrlinEngh Posted December 26, 2016 #1 Posted December 26, 2016 We had 6 inches of snow on Friday now is pouring rain, we had a flood here in December last year I don't remember Decembers like this, lots of snow but not heavy rains. There are flooded streets in town and the creeks are coming up. And we have another round of heavy rain coming yet tonight. A lot of repair work on the roads from the October flood still hasn't settled in yet. Sure hope the best for the ones that are traveling tonight that they make it home safe and sound.
zagger Posted December 27, 2016 #2 Posted December 27, 2016 Yup. Lots of snow - followed by rain all Christmas day - followed by a sunny day at forty-something degrees (F) which gradually dropped to the mid-twenties. And winds gusting to 40mph. Guess it's better than the -10F temps we had a few days ago, but not by much! zag

Had to clean up tree limbs off of the roads while I was sanding should of had my ice cleats on for walking on the road.
bj66 Posted December 27, 2016 #4 Posted December 27, 2016 Same kind of weather here in SD. Over an inch of rain yesterday with 40 mph winds. 16000 homes last I heard are without power. Most are small town and rural. Some places will be several days before power is restored. Lines are down, lots of snapped off poles. No travel is recommended. I got lucky, I didn't lose power. Isn't winter Fun! Hope to get ice shack out in next day or two. That will make me feel better.....

Wood heat and generator in the event that it does. There is a level of preparedness to survive these crazy winters. We got no rain on this side but I heard it was worse on your side. I hope xmas was a good time! Once this whit gold melts your going to have to visit the hills with your scoot for a couple days of riding and grilling.
