I bought a compression tester today and in the safety information was this paragraph "The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this manual cannot cover all situations that may occur. The operator must understand that common sense and caution are factors, which cannot be built into this product but must be supplied by the operator." You would think that this didn't need to be said, but we know different.

I'm sorry, but due to Federal Regulation 117.3756.21a Para. 5c "The words "sense" and "common" shall not be used in any combination in close proximity to each other in a sentence..."

If common sense were so common, how come so few people have it?

I have always been a fan of letting Darwin do his job.

What we really need is legal reform to a system where if you sue someone and lose, you must pay all of the defendants legal expenses.

This will at least slow down the flood of frivolous lawsuits.

We don't have as many lawsuits here. The lawyers are not allowed contingency fees. If you want to sue you have to pay up front and if you lose you may have to pay all the defendants legal fees. It cuts out a lot of BS.

Almost forgot.....if you launch 6 lawsuits and lose them you become a "vexatious litigant" and have to apply to the supreme court for permission to launch another lawsuit.

We have a multimillionaire developer, a newcomer, who has bought property next to our rod and gun club. He has sued us multiple times trying to destroy the club but the locals and others have rallied to us. He has now lost 3 times and we are working on the next three. Our club has been part of the community for 101 years and we are not giving up without a fight. It is close financially but I think we can hang in there.

Too many dickheads out there... & the thing about Common Sense is, sadly, it ain't the common!

I get so sick & tired of people trying to blame others for their own shortcomings & stupidity. Own up!

Sailor Good Luck with your battle against the developer. I had 10 acres in the UK in a farming community, a developer bought a farm & buildings, barns etc not too far from me & turned it into a mini sub-division, about 8 houses. The people that bought there were constantly complaining about "farm noises", farmers working at night to get crops in, sheep bleating & "keeping them awake!!!!". Get over it people the farms, sheep etc were there long before they were. They chose to move to a farming community FFS!
