Guest FLB Posted April 18, 2008 #1 Posted April 18, 2008 I have just become the proud owner of the Millenium Edition Venture but was dissapointed on our first ride when the radio kept going out else there was a lot of static. It happened when the ipod was on too. We have new JM helmet speakers. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Thanks.
BuddyRich Posted April 18, 2008 #2 Posted April 18, 2008 There are several connectors under the front fairing. We have found that pulling them apart and using some di-electric grease on them solves many problems. They are in a bundle on the left side of the headlight as you face the bike. They are round and have colored bands on them. Try that.
MAINEAC Posted April 18, 2008 #3 Posted April 18, 2008 Make sure the CB isn't on... push the CB button to turn on then hit it again holding it until the yellow light goes out.
Guest FLB Posted April 19, 2008 #4 Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks, I will try both of your suggestions.

Us MM's have to show off.
juggler Posted April 19, 2008 #6 Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks, I will try both of your suggestions. Try the CB first. I've had this happen to me and it's far easier to resolver than tearing the front fairing apart.
kantornado Posted April 19, 2008 #7 Posted April 19, 2008 One other thing to consider. Do you have a back rest?? If I lean back for some reason the pressure of the forks on the bottom of backrest going over the wires knocks the radio out. It does it on mine and I tried relocating the wires but it still does it. I just don't lean back hard.......................................Ron
SaltyDawg Posted April 19, 2008 #8 Posted April 19, 2008 My money is on the CB. When I bought my 99 way back when I had the same problem. Only problem was there were no online clubs to get info from. Took me a few days to figure it out. Never said I was the sharpest tack in the box.
