Brake Pad Posted December 7, 2016 #1 Posted December 7, 2016 Last week I was on my annual Pecan Pie run. I left Vero Beach at 8am, rode all day, and made it up to Weston Georgia by 5 pm. ( long line to buy pies ) by about 6pm, I was packing up my trailer, and riding back roads to Fort Gaines Georgia for dinner before heading into the campground. Now you know you're taking a chance, riding on back roads during deer season, and the sun was starting to set. figured I'd be getting into Fort gaines by 7:45 pm. it was 73 degrees as the sun set. and as twilight hit, the temps dropped to the low 60's. I had to stop and put my yellow safety jacket on. took off again. as I rolled into coleman Georgia. out of the corner of my eye I caught movement. ( I slammed on the brakes so hard, my helmet slammed into the windshield. as I'm looking down into the headlight beams, I see a deer's rear hoof pass the headlights ) Friggin Doe almost got me. I shook it off, and kept going ( thinking I almost had venison for dinner ). I'm thankful for the new diamond blue headlamps I just put on my wing. ever bite of those pies. I see that friggin doe. Never got to camp. after getting to Fort Gaines, my battery died. I had to be towed to Dothan alabama. got a new battery. after sleeping in the parking lot when the tow truck dropped me off, at a honda shop at 11:30 alabama time. the shop opened at 8 am. I waited til 1 pm to leave.then headed home https://www.google.com/maps/dir/4820+55th+Street,+Vero+Beach,+FL+32967-2434,+USA/Weston,+Georgia/Coleman,+GA,+USA/''/''/Perry,+FL,+USA/''/4820+55th+Street,+Vero+Beach,+FL+32967-2434,+USA/@29.7886487,-85.1663724,7z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m55!4m54!1m5!1m1!1s0x88de5de6c2411879:0xd4235dfc7dedf467!2m2!1d-80.4363769!2d27.694519!1m5!1m1!1s0x88f2c2042263271b:0x1d9798d56387c8a9!2m2!1d-84.6149186!2d31.9759931!1m5!1m1!1s0x88f2adaefec8b7c5:0x8662acef049e3b7d!2m2!1d-84.8890905!2d31.6729444!1m5!1m1!1s0x0:0xfb89cde0e0eb739!2m2!1d-85.0494963!2d31.6057766!1m5!1m1!1s0x0:0xa4c763a4eb1cecbc!2m2!1d-85.3901435!2d31.1894975!1m10!1m1!1s0x88e954d8470515b5:0x81acebd7ef6e76e7!2m2!1d-83.5821063!2d30.1115662!3m4!1m2!1d-82.1299175!2d29.1870369!3s0x88e62b552ee247a5:0x60c24b099e97fd8!1m5!1m1!1s0x0:0x29640ddd75680c2!2m2!1d-81.031839!2d29.276697!1m5!1m1!1s0x88de5de6c2411879:0xd4235dfc7dedf467!2m2!1d-80.4363769!2d27.694519!3e0?hl=en

Flyinfool Posted December 7, 2016 #3 Posted December 7, 2016 Cant blame the doe, I might have tried to get those pecan pies from you to. Good move to out duck her takeout attempt. Had you not hit the brakes she might have got the trailer full of goodies.

bill in mn Posted December 9, 2016 #15 Posted December 9, 2016 I'm thankful for the new diamond blue headlamps I just put on my wing. I have a wing and was wondering about your headlights you installed. I think the lights on my 02 are unbelievable to begin with but if there is an upgrade I'm all in. More light = More better. Thanks Bill
