Freebird Posted December 4, 2016 #1 Posted December 4, 2016 As many of you know, our old friend Black Owl has been in the VA Hospital for a while now. It seems that he takes two steps forward and then a step back. I understand that he is just not doing well at all and I ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers. Russell was one of our very first members when I started this club years ago. I love and respect him as many of you do.
cecdoo Posted December 4, 2016 #2 Posted December 4, 2016 Was just thinking about Black Owl yesterday... wondering how he was doing. Thanks for the update Don and sorry to hear he is not doing better. Will keep him in my thoughts, hopefully he will turn a corner and start feeling better. Craig

tomephil Posted December 5, 2016 #9 Posted December 5, 2016 Owl, your in our thoughts. Hope things start turning around for the better. T&T
eagleeye Posted December 5, 2016 #10 Posted December 5, 2016 It's those steps backwards that worry me. I talked with him a short while back and at that time seemed like he was doing good. Sure hope things turn around for him. After all, he is a tough old OWL.
Condor Posted December 5, 2016 #12 Posted December 5, 2016 The Power of Prayer is a great thing. Laughter is also a great healer. I'm going to keep sending the bird email jokes.... and praying.
krispy Posted December 6, 2016 #14 Posted December 6, 2016 Thanks for posting this Freebird. We met the Owl years back at PIP. Nice fellow and we'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers as well.
GAWildKat Posted February 5, 2017 #15 Posted February 5, 2017 Not sure of how the VA works, but would we be able to get a laptop to him? Maybe even hold a fundraiser to buy a cheap one to send to him? Being able to communicate with friends and family here might be huge for him now depending how he feels.
