snyper316 Posted November 6, 2016 #26 Posted November 6, 2016 Sorry never meant to go off subject, But technically it falls under the commercials that stretch the truth. Now here soon I bet we will see a bunch of H&R Block Commercials and the Edward Jones. I would like to know if anyone has ever tried this app called sling TV, I have thought of cutting cable and phone here. But kinda curious what the Data curve is on sling tv. I average about 400gb with just Netflix Computers and smart phones. We really only use netflix once in a great while. Only reason I have cable is where I live I cannot get the local news station with any kind of antenna I even have a signal booster.
Kretz Posted November 6, 2016 #27 Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) Sorry Guys, maybe I didn't explain it clearly.... my post wasn't about HEALTH INSURANCE it was about an ad that our Provincial Motor Insurer is putting out & about my motorcycle insurance. (i.e the amount I pay each year to be allowed to ride on our roads). & the $1000 is per year plus the $300 or so paid to a private insurer for collision & comprehensive, for my bike, nothing else, I never mentioned health care insurance. cowpuc Posted November 6, 2016 #29 Posted November 6, 2016 Aint never had nuttin but antenna TV somewhat because of all the commercials and junk but cost also plays a part .. Picked up one of those 60 mile amplified digital antennas and it does a good job.. With all the "streaming" available online = aint even messed with that in months... :think:Then there is my VR addiction,, greatest show on earth right here so I dont even stream much either ... LIVE news, commentaries, documentaries, sit coms, soap opera's and endless technical programming - all with NO commercial interups and a measly buck a month:bowdown:.. Now if I could just stay off probation

My apologies, I misunderstood as well. I would say "come to the beautiful US where vehicle insurance is actually affordable", but soon enough that could be a lateral move. Im sure its only a matter of time before our gov sticks their fingers in auto insurance and scramble that just as with health insurance. I have basic lia on an 87 samurai, 03 acura, 96 lexus and 99 vmax and pay $775 annually usd for wife and I on all vehicles. I thought that was a tad lofty but dayum. I should savor that before we have Clinton Affordable Motor ins Act. So what happens there if someone is on disability or just out of work? You dont drive or ride? Thats not chump change there.

This would be due to the higher incidence of extreme body damage to the rider compared to the cager and of course to the fact that the Province is in charge of both vehicle and health insurance. The fees for vehicle insurance are arbitrarily assessed. In BC and Ont the cost is the highest in the country, about three times that of the Maritime provinces for the same coverage. As for healthcare, as a single person I pay $75 per month which is apparently very good compared to the system in the USA. We are covered for everything except prescriptions, dental and optical. The likely reason for the big difference is because everyone in the country has to be enrolled. Our system is not perfect and there are holes but for the majority of people it does a good job. There is also the option for adding more comprehensive coverage with third party insurance.

For me the auto insurance, motorcycle insurance, and renters insurance I pay $147 a month. I used to pay $52 a month for motorcycle and car insurance. My truck broke down so I cancelled the car insurance. 5 months later got the Tahoe and went to insure it and it was $148 a month just for it. Liability only. They told me the reason was cause of the lapse in car insurance. I don't understand till this day why mine jumped so much. I am not gonna pay for something that sits in my yard. They told me I should have got some other insurance for driver with no vehicle, But in this state they don't offer that. Misery is just bat ass backwards if you ask me.
Kretz Posted November 7, 2016 #33 Posted November 7, 2016 At Clive, Camos & Snyper Off topic a from the OP but..... Yeah! We own a 2000 Chevy Siverado, A 2004 Jeep Liberty (so both older vehicles) & Two bikes (a 2006 Vulcan & the 2009 RSTD) I really should let one of them go, I can only ride one at a time! Each vehicle has to be insured separately (ie no multi vehicle policies) Insurance costs (in round figures) $1000 per year for each vehicle for my wife & I to drive the two trucks & for me to ride the two bikes. Obviously with the bikes only one can be on the road at any one time (my wife does have a m.c licence but doesn`t drive the bikes) Our Health insurance (Medical Services Premium) costs us another $136 per month. It`s based on your income, once you go over a certain income (which is imo quite low) everyone pays the same. So I (on a pension) pay the same in Medical Premiums as does our Province`s Premier who earns $200k per year. As someone said quite a chunk of change, especially when it comes out of a fixed income pension.
djh3 Posted November 7, 2016 #34 Posted November 7, 2016 Hmmm I thought this was all about the election commercials. Wife just read a post from FB. Its like Clinton and Trump are divorced parents fighting for custody of us as kids. And we just want to go live with grandma. LOL So true.
snyper316 Posted November 7, 2016 #35 Posted November 7, 2016 Yeah I seen that post but me it was grandpa's house, we would go ride bikes at like 5 in the morning to pick up cans up in Davenport IA. Good times.
Sailor Posted November 7, 2016 #36 Posted November 7, 2016 I know fraud exists in our car insurance system. I have seen it, but it is not the main cause of higher premiums. Each year the government takes millions of dollars out of ICBC (Insurance Corporation of B.C.) an puts it into general coffers. That money should be returned to the accident free drivers who have been overcharged for insurance.

This year ICBC gave a smaller "cut" to the Gov't "to keep our rate increases lower" LOL In the UK good driver bonuses can get up to 60% & more (ie your premium is lowered by 60%) here they do 43% max & tell you it's a good deal. imo when we have multiple bikes we should also be able to insure the most expensive bike & be able switch plates (without paying $30 every time we do that!) Apologies to the OP as this thread started off about annoying ads, & seems to have morphed due to my earlier post about "insurance ads" Sorry I really didn't mean to hijack your thread.
Dragonslayer Posted November 7, 2016 #38 Posted November 7, 2016 Arrrrrrrghhhhhh, so many things to complain about and so little time. Seems much more time efficient to just count my blessings..... 1. I'm'still alive 2. No one is trying to shoot and eat me at the moment. 3. I don't live in range of flyingfools snow machine
Condor Posted November 7, 2016 #39 Posted November 7, 2016 Someone may have already said it, but I can't believe you guys watch all that crap... I record everything and fast forward thru the garbage.... Except Fox Business News where William Devaney keeps hawking gold... If the poop does hit the paddle I guess it can be melted down for bullets.... :-) http://cast-aways.com/CONDORPICS/Sam-Side.jpg

If the poop does hit the paddle I guess it can be melted down for bullets.... :-) http://cast-aways.com/CONDORPICS/Sam-Side.jpg Gold weighs almost twice as much as lead. Not sure what effect that will have on the gun except that it for sure will slow down the velocity and increase the drop. But if you did hit something it should have more impact. Might blow up the gun due to increased presure in the barrel trying to expel that heavy bullet? It's amusing to watch the old westerns where the stagecoach robber slings the saddlebags of gold over his saddle and rides away. The bags would be so heavy, there wouldn't be much slinging going on.

ACTUALY GOLD WEIGHS(19.3 GRM/CC) .585 % MORE THAN LEAD( 11.3 GRAMS /CC) NOT 100% THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT TRUTHFUL ADVERTISING:bang head:

Flyinfool Posted November 8, 2016 #43 Posted November 8, 2016 If you are going to use gold bullets then you are most likely casting them yourself, and most likely loading them your self, which means it is easy to work up a load that will keep pressure under control. Silver is closer to lead in weight and is much more readily available, and much less expensive to stockpile.

Silver is closer to lead in weight and is much more readily available, and much less expensive to stockpile. And you can kill werewolfs with silver bullets. But you need a Woden stake through the heart to kill vampires but what I don't get is if vampires and zombies are essentially the same why can't you kill a zombie with a wooden stake thru the heart.
baylensman Posted November 9, 2016 Author #45 Posted November 9, 2016 Big plus if you have silver bullets. You get to where one of those neat o masks Like the Lone Ranger
Flyinfool Posted November 10, 2016 #46 Posted November 10, 2016 The bulk of the dishonest commercials just ended now that the election is over.
