Awhile back someone posted a thread on DIY seafoam and determined the ingredients were like Coleman lantern fuel, Naptha and another ingredient I do not recall. I believe someone calculated that mixed in the right proportions you could produce DIY seafoam for like $6 per gallon. I maybe wrong. It would be interesting to dig up that old thread.

Awhile back someone posted a thread on DIY seafoam and determined the ingredients were like Coleman lantern fuel, Naptha and another ingredient I do not recall. I believe someone calculated that mixed in the right proportions you could produce DIY seafoam for like $6 per gallon. I maybe wrong. It would be interesting to dig up that old thread.

 

It was determined that Seafoam is Naphtha, Coleman fuel is Naphtha, Isopropyl alcohol, and oil. It was never determined what kind of oil is used or the exact mix ratio. This was determined from the MSDS sheets. Those sheets are always vague on quantity of each ingredient to protect the formula.

There was some experimenting going on with various oils.
