ReinyRooster Posted October 13, 2016 #1 Posted October 13, 2016 Rode the ambulance from work Tuesday morning to the local cardiac care hospital , and on Friday had quadruple bypass surgery. Home now for a 6 week recovery.....can't lift anything. Got some awesome scars though!! My riding season is over, Deer season done, bear season done......glad to be alive but man, my freezer was in need of a venison restocking!!
GAWildKat Posted October 13, 2016 #2 Posted October 13, 2016 Glad to hear you are still here. Cardiac stuff is scary stuff. Be careful and follow doc's orders. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
Kybigmac Posted October 13, 2016 #3 Posted October 13, 2016 When you say scars I take it you had the zipper installed in your chest. I have that scar from having an aneurysm fixed and a heart valve replacement in 07,almost died,30 days in a coma,38 days in intensive care! I'm happy every morning when I wake and you will be too. I bet some of your hunting buddies will be glad to help with refilling that freezer, so just relax and heal up it'll be OK
XV1100SE Posted October 13, 2016 #4 Posted October 13, 2016 Sorry to hear about your issue...but so glad you pulled thru and got care. If you need any help with anything I'm a phone call away.
uncledj Posted October 13, 2016 #5 Posted October 13, 2016 Take a break, rest up, heal up, and you'll be back at it next year. Keep us filled in on your progress. Thoughts will be with you......Black Cherry riders are special folks.
cowpuc Posted October 13, 2016 #6 Posted October 13, 2016 :scared::scared: WOWZY WOW WOW WOW REINY = SOOOOOO GLAD YOU MADE IT BROTHER!!!!!! Thankfully you weren't 5 miles back in the deer woods when that puppy hit!! Got those Prayers Up for your healing process my friend! Take it easy, listen to those Dr.'s and the 2017 ride season will be here before you know it:big-grin-emoticon:
Marcarl Posted October 13, 2016 #7 Posted October 13, 2016 Good to hear you made it through. If you need somebody to keep your scoot lubed up, just post it, and we'll see about the costs,,, wouldn't be much I bet. Gonna take a while to get the strength back, so be patient, and do as your told. Where was it that you live??? might be around to visit if I'm in the area.
eagleeye Posted October 13, 2016 #8 Posted October 13, 2016 My riding season is over, Deer season done, bear season done......glad to be alive but man, my freezer was in need of a venison restocking!! I feel your pain, but look at it this way: You'll still be here next year. Maybe one of your buddies will help you out with some game.

chabicheka Posted October 13, 2016 #11 Posted October 13, 2016 Sorry to hear that, Reiny....take care of your self, and you will be out and about in no time. Have to take care of the food you eat, and regular exercise will be helpful. Hope to see you well again soon. abdul.
cecdoo Posted October 14, 2016 #12 Posted October 14, 2016 Glad to hear they got you to the hospital in time and all went well with the operation. Take it easy and listen to the Drs you will feel great in a few weeks. Craig
relic Posted October 14, 2016 #13 Posted October 14, 2016 Always scary when it comes to your health. Glad you got the care you needed and thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
ReinyRooster Posted October 14, 2016 Author #14 Posted October 14, 2016 Thanks everyone. hard to believe that it was only one week ago today that they cracked my chest and played soccer with my heart....well OK, they didn't actually play soccer with it but sometimes it feels like it. One week and I am already home and recovering. It is amazing what modern medicine and the human body are capable of. Can't say enough goods things about the medical staff and the amazing care that I got. When it's all over, you simply leave.....don't even have to sign anywhere.....the staff are seriously understaffed and overworked, but for the most part, its an amazing system. Ride safe everyone.
Yammer Dan Posted October 14, 2016 #15 Posted October 14, 2016 Keep it at low RPMs for a while til it gets back to normal. Did I say Normal??? I should know better. Take it easy for a while!!
dogman Posted October 14, 2016 #16 Posted October 14, 2016 Reiny you will be in my prayers for a full recovery. Lots of physio and exercise to come. Others have said they feel better then they had in years. I hope this applies to you when you are fully recovered. All the best young man.
mm482 Posted October 14, 2016 #17 Posted October 14, 2016 It’s amazing what the doctors can do, especially heart surgeons. Praying you will have a fast recovery.
Sylvester Posted October 14, 2016 #18 Posted October 14, 2016 I am also saddened by your heart issues, and pray for your speedy recovery. This "getting old" sucks.
saddlebum Posted October 15, 2016 #19 Posted October 15, 2016 .Gee Reinhard, I only just saw this, this morning. Not spending much time on the site latly due to all the chores I am trying to catch up on. Having said that I am sorry to hear you had such scary ordeal but extremely glad :178:you are doing well now. My father had a quadrupple and pulled through like nothing ever happened, and I am sure you will too. Back off on the sugars and Carbs and those delicius German baked goods (sorry). Take care and see you soon.
ReinyRooster Posted October 15, 2016 Author #20 Posted October 15, 2016 Thanks everyone for the moral support. I gave up cigarettes over 30 years ago, but I'm a good German boy who likes his breaded pork schnitzel, sauerkraut, pigtails, beer........wait a minute......I'm getting sad here making a list of many things that I have to give up! Oh well, could have been worse. Ride safe everyone.
