Hi All,

I used to have a 1983 Venture, went a LOT of place on her, she had a good soul. Next bought a 2001 Kawasaki Voyager, a nice enough bike, but didn't care much for the handling, powerband , etc. Anyway, I just bought a 2006 venture about a month ago. Loving it so far, except for "the whine". Sometimes it REALLY annoys me, other times I don't even notice. Took a 400 mile ride to Vermont and back last Saturday, was LOVING the bike.

Anyway, does anyone have any advice about installing Sirius Radio on the Venture?

Any recommendations on engine oil?

I used castrol synthetic in my Voyager, seemed to work well.

Any recommendations on Highway pegs or boards?

Look Forward To Hearing Back,

Thank You

Marty

Look into a Zumo GPS, it has the ability (add the antenna) for sirius, it also has MP3 and bluetooth for your phone. Add Buddyrich's cable and you can use your phone via your hearset. And it gives you a very good GPS.

I use Clean 6000 for oil and the pegs mentioned are what most people here use.

As far as the whine goes if it's to loud bring it back to the dealer and have them change the I basket. This at times helps it won't get rid of the whine just transfer it to a differant RPM. If that doesn't work change your mufflers to some thing a bit louder, if you want.

You'll love the bike.

Actually I believe the Zumo has the ability to use XM not Sirius radio. I have an XM radio on my 99 and I doubt Sirius would be any different. Get a Ram mount that will fit your radio. http://www.ram-mount.com/ and you can either use the FM modulator in the Sirius radio, run a aux cable to the aux port beside the cassette player, or put a splitter in under the front fairing and run an aux audio cable separately for the Sirius radio. The handlebars are 1 inch and so are the engine crash bars.

As far as oil I too use the Rotella oil for diesel trucks the 15W-40 it has never let me down yet. Since I live on the East Coast I see no reason to go with a 5W oil, it doesn't get cold enough.
