XV1100SE Posted September 25, 2016 #6 Posted September 25, 2016 Great looking bike. I do like that wheel. May add one someday. You are going to say to yourself...."leave it to Don to make that comment" but.... Thought you said you were done with adding to the bike?
Freebird Posted September 25, 2016 #7 Posted September 25, 2016 Yep...almost done. I did finally install a SpeedoHealer recently. I'm pretty sure that is the last thing though.
ragtop69gs Posted September 25, 2016 #9 Posted September 25, 2016 Yep...almost done. I did finally install a SpeedoHealer recently. I'm pretty sure that is the last thing though. What about that darkside upgrade we talked about?
Freebird Posted September 25, 2016 #10 Posted September 25, 2016 Haven't connected with Mike yet. Going to pick it up and try it out. Not sure I will like it though.
sho_greg Posted September 25, 2016 Author #11 Posted September 25, 2016 Darkside.. I tried that with a general gmax tire on a kawasaki nomad once... never again. I actually had a guy pull me over on interstate and told me my back tire looked like it was going flat.... thing was squirly at speeds over 60mph.. it would look for the center of the tire and go back and forth never being able to remain at center...
uechi kid Posted September 25, 2016 #12 Posted September 25, 2016 Lots of Wingers swear by their car tires. Most have run flats. As for me, I've never been tempted.
DblTrbl Posted September 27, 2016 #13 Posted September 27, 2016 Yep...almost done. I did finally install a SpeedoHealer recently. I'm pretty sure that is the last thing though. Does the SpeedoHealer work? I was looking at that as well as the digital gear indicator.........
Freebird Posted September 27, 2016 #14 Posted September 27, 2016 Yes, it works very well. I had one on the '99 and knew I would put one on this bike sooner or later. When I saw one for sale by a member here who had sold his bike, I jumped on it. Easy install. I actually had a gear indicator for the '99 but never installed it and never felt that I needed one. Gave it away at one of my Maintenance Days. I don't remember who got it.
videoarizona Posted September 27, 2016 #15 Posted September 27, 2016 http://shop.12oclocklabs.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=59 Cheaper, smaller, very easy to program, plug and play. Had one for the years now on VStar, just moved it to RSV. Took longer to take seat off then to plug it in. Programmed mine for a -7.1. Speedo now dead accurate. Sorry...hijacking thread.
Freebird Posted September 27, 2016 #16 Posted September 27, 2016 I may have tried that one for the price but have always been very pleased with the SpeedoHealer. This one was a no brainer. Bought it from a member here for even less than that one and it was new and still in the package. Programming is very simple on either of them. Both are plug and play. If you buy the "Universal" model of the Speedohealer it requires a power wire to the battery. If you buy the correct one for the Yamaha V4 though, it does not.
