MKII trunk mount

I was doing some other things on my 86 and noticed the trunk was loose and rocked back and forth a lot. Upon further inspection I found the 2 forward mounts broken. I removed the trunk and found the back of the trunk was cracked from completely across from the rear 2 mount points. I'm guessing the front issue led to the rear issue. Wife never mentioned it was loose. Check your bike it looks like one side had been repaired before.

Yup!! I've seen worse, usually fixed with welding, MacGuiver'ing using fat fender washers...

I found one on ebay that wasn't broken. I think I will have it beefed up at a machine shop. Thanks

I had the two tabs that take the passenger grips snapped clean off on the '91 plus the two forward tab on the frame. Welding took care of the problem. $5 bucks. Never could figure out what would cause that...?? No other damage anywhere...

I saw 5 or 6 and all but one had a broken right tab. The one I bought looked good but when I got it the right tab was cracked.
