This is sort of a complaint. Maybe it's just me, but when someone responds to a post with a pic in it, the pics in the reply aren't deleted and appear again and again in multiple posts.... It would be a simple thing to delete the pic from one's reply or comment, and just post a text response. Even with an atta boy!!.... :thumbsup2: Some of these topics become so top heavy with pics in my case the comments are lost, and not worth following,,,, I know this will be like herding a bunch of cats... :whistling: Just wanted to say.... :duck:

Agreed. It's easy to edit the reference posts..take out the pics and other stuff. As I did with your post.

Would make following the posts much simpler and quicker...

And here I thought pictures were an important part,,,, everybody is always complaining that we need pictures,,, boy! I can get confused at my place in life. :bang head: :think: :happy65:

They are important, but pics in a quoted reply to the original post are a PITA.... Even lots of imocons.... :Laugh::nanner::hurts::Avatars_Gee_George:

 

On the flip side, someone who doesn't quote in a long fractured thread, it's not clear what the 'H' post they are replying to.... :doh::duck:

I've often thought the same thing ... think I even mentioned it at one time .

It's not just this board. It happens in others as well. 'Specially posts of a great multi pic ride reports spread over several posts, and someone will jump in and give it an 'Atta Boy!!' quote, before the author can post again, and the same 15 pics appear all over again.... To quote or not to quote... that is the question?? :think: :whistling:

Hey, I also can't find a "cents" key on my keyboard, must be a "smart phone" thing...

The " ¢ " key is there, it is just hiding.

You press and hold ALT and then hit 1 5 5 on the numeric keypad and release ALT. and presto a ¢ appears.

If you are on a laptop with no numeric keypad like I am. there should be NUM LOCK button somewhere to turn part of the alpha keyboard into a numeric keypad.

 

There are a lot of useful symbols that can be accessed this way once you figure out their codes. I also use the degree symbol ° a lot as ALT+248.

 

Did you notice the thread where The wonderful all knowing Boss man has made pics automatically disappear from quotes??

Now days is ALT 0162 that will work for the ¢ sign.... ☼ this is what you get when you use 155. They went to a 4 digit code a few years ago. Kinda cool.....

 

BTW anyone interested, do a google for alt code. There are a ton of symbles available.

I think some of the symbols change depending on the font that you use.

Whether or not you use the leading zero gives different symbols. To a puter 0155 and 155 are 2 completely different things, a leading zero IS a significant digit.

 

On my puter

ALT+155 = ¢

ALT+0155 = ›

ALT+1155 = â

ALT+162 = ó

ALT+0162 = ¢

ALT+1162 = è

Maybe someone who's a lot smarter than me can jump in here. I'm not sure why there are different codes for the same symbol?? Years ago I used to use the 3 digit, but then it stopped working and I found the 4 digit and was back in business again. Here's a list website. Why these work and other don't is above my pay scale...

Speaking of Which has nothing to do with much but.... When I worked for Tyson In Noel Mo. Red was for go and Green was to stop the line... Now talk about confusing!!!

Nope... Just ALT 155... No plus +... ☼ Degree's = ALT 0176 ° Now here's a possibility?? I'm still running Windows 7 with Chrome. I noticed someone having trouble with 10 not giving the same symbols??

FWIW I am running XP Pro SP2 and FireFox.

All of the online ALT charts That I looked at including the one you posted list ☼ as ALT15 and all but the one you posted list ¢ as ALT155.

Not saying either one is right or wrong, just that there are differences depending on your specific computer setup.

As I mentioned earlier, there is more than one ALT code for each symbol.

 

But they do all have the disclaimer that different programs will give different results.

 

Now I am curious what setup others are running to see what other differences there may be, or if it is a difference in which font is selected, I am using whatever the default font for this site is.
