Well Kids, I'm having another heart surgery/procedure this coming Monday the 29th. I have a condition called Atrial Fibrillation going on with my heart. Have had 2 other ablation procedures in years past due to A-fib, and I'm hoping this one will fix it for a long time. I'm gonna be off work for 10 days after the surgery to recover, then my wife has to be at a training conference in Dallas September 19-21. We are planning to trailer the bike (only because I don't want to over do things with the heart) down to Waco on the 16th. Then leave Waco on the bike early Saturday morning of the 17th and head down to the hill country. Figured we'd spend Saturday riding and looking at some of the old towns (Fredericksburg, etc) in that area, get a room in maybe Kerrville and ride the 3 Sisters Sunday the 18th before heading back to Dallas to get her settled into the hotel for training starting monday morning.

We've never been to the hill country area. I'm looking for suggestions of things that are must sees from you folks that have been there, or live down that way and are familiar that area.

Thanks,

Big Lenny

Very sorry to hear about your issues.

I had an irregular heart beat when I was working my job in FL that included 14 months of 6 - 12s. I ate too much and gained to my all time peak weight. When the job ended, I retired and lost 25 lbs, got back to walking 50 minutes 3 times a week and on alternate days I did a set of pullovers and arm curls on the Total Gym, pushups from the knee, situps, and squats. My heartbeat got back to normal. I was 70 at the time.

So, my advice would be to lose weight and exercise, gently at first, the best two things you could ever do for your body.

Here's to a successful procedure. Use to deer hunt in the Llano area; Coopers BBQ in Llano has great brisket! Oh yea, I would not ride at night, the deer were everywhere.

Well BigLenny. The Texas Hill Country covers a lot of ground. Just about all of it good riding. Not sure how your health will be, nor your likes, nor your budget. Read this and choose from there.

A note about Coopers BBQ. It is good but they are very proud of it and you pay for it a $20 lunch is common.

The "sisters" is a good ride. Fill up just south of Leakey, don't pass up an opportunity to get gas. Believe the 10mph curve speed limits most curves are tightening radius turns. The Motorcycle Museum is a good stop, they charge an entrance fee. Do Luckenbach and stay at D'Rose Inn & Cabins just so you can say "been there - done that".

I ride the area often and know it well.

Good luck on your ablation. I had one done last summer using some new methods and so far it is working. My doc said I was the 4th person ever to have this new procedure. Of course he pointed that part out AFTER the procedure. I spent a total of 30 hours in the hospital and only missed 3 days of work.

Best of luck with that procedure. Motorcycletom had that done a couple of years ago and it worked for him. Prayers sent for a quick recovery
