No, they don't affect opening of the saddlebag lids but we found them kind of useless, small and hard to get to, especially if you have passenger armrests installed...

Kind of my thoughts too about being too small to be much use. I'd seen the inaccuracy to their advertisement but that's what happens when you employ those worthy of serving fries with your burger to look after your business. Thinking of having a pocket added to my backrest for a cell phone which would be an easy reach for my wife when riding tandem.

I like the idea of the pocket bag on top of the dash but haven't purchased one yet. My wife is concerned about reaching her phone while on the road without stopping. My phone sticks with industrial Velcro to the tank bib and doesn't move at all. I can bluetooth through the intercom or plug into the bikes system. Either way I'm covered.

Yup! We used to have a bag attached with velcro (stock setup) on my backrest but it developed a hole. Last year at Wilson's Leather wife found a small black handbag she liked, so we just attached a piece of velcro to it and it's a perfect replacement but it's a little smaller than the original bag, but that's a good thing seeing as the hole was caused by the metal hinge for the backrest...

I absolutely refuse to have my phone blue toothed on my bike. That is one place I feel that you do not need to be on the phone. I watched my brother in-law one day texting while on his bike. Yup...he was. One of the reasons I no longer ride with him. Being on the bike is the one and only place I get any solitude and I am not changing that. Now I do have a Kuryakin windshield bag on my 07 RSV. I had to make an extension to get it long enough to tie into the windshield screws. Works real well.

Nope, I don't talk on the phone while riding; in fact I don't drive while talking either. Wife gets aggravated with me when I pull to the side or hand the phone to her till I can get to a stop. Fixed far too many automobiles which were involved in collisions due to distractions of electronic devices. However the bluetooth option will probably be used by my wife but she's always a passenger.

I've not looked at the Kuryakin product but will. I need to ensure over the weekend that I'm keeping this bike before putting more into it.

Thanks,

We have a pouch on the back of my backrest for her phone. She has it out an using it much of the time while riding since she is chief navigator. She is always looking for new roads or routes and it works great. We are bluetoothed to each other and to the phones so it is easy to communicate wireless.

I added a power outlet under the pillion seat area so her battery stays charged and I have a charger hardwired into the bike inside the fairing for mine. (wire is routed up out along the handlebars to the phone mount on the handlebar.

My wife has always been great at driving from the back seat so this will be a great benefit/addition to her natural talents..... We are going to do the same thing as you with the bluetooth but we have to get acclimated to it first. I have charging ports in the trunk but the batteries last a good time on the phones so no real need for us to plug in during actual riding.

We'll have to meet up sometime for coffee or something. I work around Dunlap often or get up there at least working Mt. Hawley airfield as one example.

Rob,

Getting together would be great and I live 3 miles from Mt Hawley however I work in E Peoria. The reason we charge our batteries in transit is the navigation apps draw the batteries down quickly. When riding solo I almost always have navigation and using streaming music.

All a new experience for me. I am based out of Hanna City at the old Air Force Station but I travel all over the country repairing navigation systems on airfield and control centers.

Bet you're glad that Allen Road construction is in the past.....
