Grommets

Has anyone had luck finding usable grommets at their local hardware store? I need the ones that the back of the side covers snap onto and the ones where the front of the side cover snaps into. Also the gas tank cover grommet could use replacing.

Yes, sort of! Depends on how good your local hardware store is! Not many true HARDWARE stores left any more! The issue is them being metric and stores mostly having SAE. I can remember once taking a bigger diameter grommet with the correct shoulder size and snipping a small part out of it to make it fit...

I just bought new ones from Yamaha. I think I paid double the price of generic, but it still wasn't much.

I ordered the Cal-Hawk assortment from Amazon today for $8. I've been having trouble finding grommets large enough for the holes in the plastics that provide a tight (smaller) hole for the pin-tabs to fit snugly. The Cal-Hawk kit is said to be real, soft-ish rubber and it has several full "plugs" that I can punch my own hole in if I can't find one of the grommets that I like.
