bikerjohn Posted August 7, 2016 #1 Posted August 7, 2016 I think my front rotors may be a little warped I get vibration when I hit the front brakes. I think the PO had someone changing tires that might have warped a rotor. That being said does anyone have a set of front rotors for a 2nd gen that i could buy off of you??
Marcarl Posted August 7, 2016 #2 Posted August 7, 2016 If your rotors are warped you would get a pulsing on your brake handle when you squeeze it, a vibration would lead to think of a dirty spot on the rotor, bad piston maybe, maybe even bearings, or a bad spot on the tire.
bikerjohn Posted August 7, 2016 Author #3 Posted August 7, 2016 Thanks Marcarl It is more of a pulsation not vibration I ordered a set of rotors
bongobobny Posted August 7, 2016 #4 Posted August 7, 2016 Yup, sounds like either warped rotors or "hard spots" on the rotor usually caused from bike setting outside in rain for a while. Rust happens all over rotor except where the calipers are leading to hard spot in metal after the rust on the rest of the rotor gets worn off with braking...
videoarizona Posted August 7, 2016 #5 Posted August 7, 2016 2nd Gen rotors are pretty easy to warp. My right front was warped upon tire replacement. Shop swore they didnt lay tire down or lean it on something. Nonetheless, no pulsing in brakes before...and pulsing afterwards. Pinball used rotor solved my problem...
