A new award has been added. In honor of all our members who are first responders. Police, Fire, Paramedics. Maybe there are others. Just let me know if you feel that I am leaving anybody out.

Now I set this one so that people cannot request it on behalf of another member. There may be those that do not wish to be identified for one reason or another so it is entirely up to you to request it if you would like to be recognized and honored.

To request this award, just click on "rewards" in the menu bar at the top of the page. Then scroll down until you see the "First Responder" award. To the right of the image you will see "request award".

Whether you request it or would rather remain anonymous, thank you so much for your service.

PERFECT BOSS!! Thank you for doing this to honor those who deserve it so much!!

Wonder if this thread should be "pinned" for a while?

I am not a first responder but am in awe of the risks that they will take to keep us safe. Not sure how many heard of the forest fire that went through Fort McMurray this year but when I came across this drawing it summed up all of our first responders.

I don't know if this is appropriate, if it is not I'm Sorry. I am a Federal Correctional Officer for 20 years now. I do the job no one cares to do. I am also a Captain on our local Volunteer Fire Dept for the past 15 years. I am proud of what I do, otherwise I would not be doing it. Both can be stressful at times, waking up in the wee morning hours to help someone I know nothing about and putting myself and my crew at risk at any given moment can really take it our of a person. But I would not have it any other way.

It is absolutely appropriate and thank you for what you do. I will be glad to give you the award once you become a supporting member. Membership has its Perks. :) If you decide to become a supporting member, just click on "Awards" in the upper menu bar and send me a request. Either way, again, thank you for your service.

Thank you, Volunteer Fire Rescue members are second to none. One of my best friends has done 25 yrs with one of our local departments as a volunteer. What you do is very special and such a blessing to all those you protect

I will add the same thing for correctional officers. That is a job that I would certainly not want and thank those of you who do it. I can't image what you must go through on a daily basis.
