kevin-vic-b.c. Posted July 31, 2016 #1 Posted July 31, 2016 We bought a bike for my wife Lori to start riding on her own. I hope she will catch the bug and go for it. Time will tell. 2002 V-Star 650
beastwood Posted July 31, 2016 #2 Posted July 31, 2016 I'm sure she will love it. I enjoyed mine for seven years. A nice around town bike.
Guest divey Posted August 1, 2016 #3 Posted August 1, 2016 Nice Kevin. Great starter bike. My wife had an 08 V-Star 650 "Canadian Edition" and loved it. Added 1" risers and it absolutely fit her like a glove. Doug
videoarizona Posted August 1, 2016 #5 Posted August 1, 2016 Great choice, Kevin! Suggest the riders safety course as well. Builds confidence as well as teaches safety and riding techniques... Loved my 650 classic. Safe riding!

Lori has completed a "skills" level training at our local safety council once but that permit expired so she is booked in to do it again in a couple weeks. I have done their "Experienced Rider Course" twice, once on my first gen then again on the second gen. Recommend everyone do training like that. I would not send Lori on the road with out it.
yamagrl Posted August 2, 2016 #7 Posted August 2, 2016 XVS 650 Is a great bike! We had one and loved it. I have PDF manual if you need it. YG
djh3 Posted August 2, 2016 #8 Posted August 2, 2016 I liked looks of those when I was looking to get back on 2 wheels in 07. After talking to a fellow that actually had one for sale and telling him what I had planned he talked me out of it. 2 up touring was not its strong suit, same reason he was selling and moving up. but he did say one up even with gear was a decent road bike. Heck most of us rememeber when a 650 was a big bike. Other than HD when I was a kid Triumph/BSA and them only had like a 650 or 750.
cowpuc Posted August 2, 2016 #9 Posted August 2, 2016 AWESOME KEV AND to both of you!! GREAT scoots IMHO!! Rootin for ya to catch that bug Lori!
