Freebird Posted July 31, 2016 #1 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) After I sold the boat back in the spring, I knew that I many as well sell the 3/4 ton Avalanche that I bought last fall. I had procrastinated though because even though I didn't need it at all since selling the boat, I really liked it and had a hard time finding it when I was searching for one. Yesterday I finally decided that I needed to get rid of it. It was sitting out by the green house and I probably hadn't put a thousand miles on it since I bought it. So I pulled it around to the driveway, gave it a half decent wash job, vacuumed it out, took some pictures and put it on Craigslist. Got a call first thing this morning with a guy wanting to come look at it. He and his wife showed up, took it for a drive, and bought it. Now I saw a discussion here earlier about what people put in their Craigslist ads. Other than the description, I added: Spammers, don't waste your time. I will not ship it. I will not accept your wired bank funds or your phony cashiers checks. I've heard all the scams and you are wasting your time. Show up at my house and be prepared to pay cash if you are interested in buying it. I also added. Yes, I know that the KBB and NADA say that the value is less than I am asking. I know that I am MUCH higher than what they say. I would recommend that if you find a 3/4 ton Avalanche with these miles and in this condition for what they say they are worth that you buy it immediately and don't waste time trying to negotiate me down to that price. I've have it priced for what it is worth to me. Well I tell you, there was very little negotiating today. He made me an offer that was close to what I was asking. I turned it down and came back with an offer that was VERY close to what I was asking. He bought it. I just deleted the Craigslist ad and it said that it was posted 23 hours ago. About as quick as I've ever sold anything I guess. I didn't need it but will miss it. Just made no sense to hang onto it though. Edited July 31, 2016 by Freebird
snyper316 Posted July 31, 2016 #2 Posted July 31, 2016 There neat looking I will give them that and my neighbors wife has a gold one but the barely fit a sport bike in it but it seats them all nicely I like the cover for the bed also I couldn't find one so I settled for a Tahoe cause I couldn't find four door truck with snuff leg room for everyone within my budget but they seem to have the leg room I'm looking for but was trying to find one I could fit the venture in not thinking of how I would get it in there.... But buying trailer for that problem maybe next year I can trade my Tahoe for one. And 23 hours is quick..... Sent from my Z812 using Tapatalk
bongobobny Posted July 31, 2016 #3 Posted July 31, 2016 The only thing missing from your detailed ad was "Owner's residence protected by Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson..."
videoarizona Posted August 1, 2016 #4 Posted August 1, 2016 I like your additional language... ok if I borrow the concept? I want to sell the 950 and last time on CL I got lots of crap calls...
Freebird Posted August 1, 2016 Author #5 Posted August 1, 2016 Sure...use whatever you want. I always use something similar and it does seem to weed out a lot of the spammers. Plus the people who want to lowball me and tell me what it's worth.
djh3 Posted August 1, 2016 #6 Posted August 1, 2016 Yea we sold something on CL. Guy came back with "kell BB says" I said well if they have one buy it.
