Yammer Dan Posted July 22, 2016 #1 Posted July 22, 2016 Or just someone who cleans more than I do. OK Everybody!!! Really I got a few cleaners but cleaning $-Wheeler is a pain. These Plastics get a little scratched and muddy. Wash them they still look bad. What can you use on scratched up plastic?? Most of it is the black trim but all of it is hard to clean. Wash the Black plastic and when it dries the mud stains show right back up.
SilvrT Posted July 22, 2016 #2 Posted July 22, 2016 I've used Armor All and some other, similar products on those plastic parts and they generally looked like new afterwards. That said, the left mirror on my truck just won't cooperate! (right one is ok) LOL Guess you could always repaint them as a last resort ....
Yammer Dan Posted July 22, 2016 Author #3 Posted July 22, 2016 Mud stains? Keep coming right back. Been using a cheap sub for Armor All it just take 3 or 4 applications. Not so cheap and lot of work.
cowpuc Posted July 22, 2016 #4 Posted July 22, 2016 Hey DanL,, I been using "Plast-X" to keep my old windshield alive for years now and it does an amazing job at removing scratches and stuff from it. Wonder how it would work for the application your talking about - thinking it might be worth a try brother. Personally, I am not one of the "cleaners and polishers" of our group - a lot of the memory gear I transfered over to Tweeksis from Tweeks has dirt, dust, rocks and sticks from all over the country and I am pretty fond of it all, almost as fond of it as I am my memory stickers - sicko eay.. BUT - because you and I are such good buddies, I would gladly grab my little bottle of Plast-X, pick a really worn spot on a saddle bag or something and give it a try.. If it works, Plast-X is available at Wally World fairly cheaply. Just give the word DanL if you would like me to give it test.. Puc
Yammer Dan Posted July 22, 2016 Author #5 Posted July 22, 2016 Tried the Plast-X Bro. Works great on fine scratches. What I'm looking for is something that will make a piece look good after a few miles in the brush and mud. Mostly just getting color back I think. Its not gonna look new. The mud stains it up and soap and water just don't do it. Wash it and it looks fair til it dries and those stains just come right back.
cecdoo Posted July 22, 2016 #6 Posted July 22, 2016 Hey Dan, try "Black Again" or "Back to Black" they work pretty good for me, but I dont use them on a 4wheeler. Craig
