videoarizona Posted July 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2016 You will need an SWR meter, adapter cables/connectors. You put the meter in line with the antenna using the adapters. Follow the meter instructions...which basically means calibrate the meter then check the SWR ratio with a brief transmit. Adjust the top of the antenna (loosen tiny set screw on antenna coil) and move the top portion of the antenna up or down to get the lowest SWR. On some antennas that are not adjustable, you cut the antenna with snips. Take off the meter and adapters and plug everything back together. That's it... For more info, search this site... Of course if you happen to live near a truck stop that has a CB shop...drive in and let them do it. One word of advice....do not do this in your carport or garage...do it in the open. Works better.
