s.tyler58 Posted April 22, 2018 #476 Posted April 22, 2018 I forgot to show you the work they did to mount the Road King pipes. They welded the new support below the saddle bag and would have put two of them on there but they were three inches short of pipe to do the job. If you look in picture to you can see where they made cuts and curve those pipes from The Collector to the exhaust pipe. And then welded the pipe to the one they made. And then in the last photo you can see some banging they did to make clearance on the inside of the exhaust pipe. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

ChiefGunner Posted April 23, 2018 #478 Posted April 23, 2018 Yesterday I installed a “Knight Rider” LED light bar on the dash of my new SVTC. I tied it into the alarm system so that when the alarm is “set”, the light bar does a back & forth sweep. If the alarm is activated I flashes 7 times and stays bright red until the alarm resets and then goes back to sweep. Great visual deterrent! Gonna try getting the backup camera installed by next weekend.

s.tyler58 Posted April 24, 2018 #480 Posted April 24, 2018 Today I replaced the O-rings in the leaking anti dive. $7.23 for a ring on the Yamaha site. Went to a local O-rings and seals store and picked up four of them for $0.18 a piece! Checked to make sure that my quick Weld Repair of the drain tube was holding and it was nice and secure and didn't even need a second coat just in case. I seem to have a little of the dreaded kickstand drip which I thought was finished. I'm going to have to pull it off and put that overhang inside that wraps around the shaft I guess. It's a very slight drip that I can live with for now. Temperature was 75 degrees this afternoon with five mile an hour south Breeze. I finally got to see CTFW for about 25 miles! After about 7 miles I decided I better fill the tag since I have no idea how much is in that dang thing and noticed that my anti dive was leaking again. I wiped it all down, finished another 15 to 20 miles and checked it about three more times on the way and it's stopped! Parked it up at the shop again and it was still dry so we'll see what happens in the morning but I have no idea why it would be leaking again with new O-rings. I need to put some driving lights on and was wondering since I never ride with the lowers on it, could I mount lamps in those forward vent holes? What kind of Lights do you all recommend and where do you mount them? There's probably 400 conversations on here about it so I'll look those up if y'all don't have a quick easy answer. Do I have to go LED? And is it complicated? I do have the empty 10 amp connector and accessory fuse with nothing running through it that ran a CB or radio inside the front of my fairing that I could easily plug lights into as an accessory ...in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

I don't know how good or bad the Mk I headlight is but the Mk II is very good for long range visibility. What is not good is lighting close up and to the sides. Mounting a set of fog lamps, real ones, on the crash bars or at the level of the horn mounts fills that area in very well. I chose a pair of the cheap projector LED's which are not real fog lights and have a pencil beam that must be pointed quite close in and off to the sides. They do a good job as fill in lights. Pretty sure Snyper put some on.
snyper316 Posted April 24, 2018 #483 Posted April 24, 2018 I'm actually thinking about getting a new set I like them a lot. I have been told by many that I'm setting next to at stop light that while running strobe on them that it brought attention to me. Which is a good thing. I just added a bad boy max to tinker also and if they don't see me they will hear me!! It is supposed to mimic a semi horn... I still have the bad boy on the right so kind of like a train horn. I will post video later but will have to go out of town for it. Never ride faster then your angel can fly. I am as free as the wind on my face.
Skid Posted April 24, 2018 #484 Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) Still getting ready for summer. Replaced the battery today so actually the next five summers I’m good for. Edited April 24, 2018 by Skid

s.tyler58 Posted April 25, 2018 #486 Posted April 25, 2018 (edited) Rode 143 miles today! Funny but somehow it took me 92 MI to get down to see my dad who lives 51 miles away by car! My left anti dive continued to leak slightly even though it has new O-rings in it as of yesterday. Thinking it's time to go Progressive and get rid of the anti dive all together. Is that an expensive proposition? I didn't lose enough fluid or even air pressure to affect the ride much until about 125 miles or so when it got a little softer. I took the old O rings to an O ring and seal specialist who measured it and matched its size at 2.25 X 12. Should I try a thicker one to get the leak stopped? I'm going to be some kind of mechanic by the time I get done doing every stinking repair twice in a week! It was great to ride without smelling a gas leak or exhaust fumes from leaks! 26.7364657814 MPG! I was in a t-shirt at 74 degrees when I left at 12:30 p.m. and 35 miles out of town it dropped down to 58 and cloudy and the wind went from 5 miles per hour to 15-25 and Gusty. Glad I had my down liner and heavy jacket on board. Almost stopped at Wally World for some long johns on the way home. Spring in Nebraska, ya gotta love it! Every time I've seen my old man (87 yrs)since starting on this project bike he's wanted to know if I'm riding yet. He hadn't got to see it till today. He said, " that thing's huge! What does it weigh? 150 lbs.?" I told him no dad 750 lb, but it'll go 150 miles per hour! You should have seen his face! Priceless!! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk Edited April 25, 2018 by s.tyler58 Added question about O rings

Air Ready Auto Posted April 26, 2018 #491 Posted April 26, 2018 I upgraded the horns on Lucy. Nothing super special. Used a set designed for a 2000 Saturn SL2. (Yes I used a relay.) Massive improvement over what was on there.

zagger Posted May 3, 2018 #498 Posted May 3, 2018 Shot some starter juice into one of the spark plug holes and it fired right up after 6 months of sleeping. Rode ten miles or so and got some fresh gas, before the next blast of rain hits. Just good to see it running again!
snyper316 Posted May 3, 2018 #499 Posted May 3, 2018 Well I am debating wether to ride or fix that stupid oil leak.. It is literally bout the size of a quarter overnight.. Just enough of a leak to drip on exhaust and stink... At least it is smaller then what it was. I've got all the parts to fix the leak but its Definatly leaking from the slave.... While I'm in there I'm gonna replace the neutral safety switch and oring... But for tonight she is under the leantoo of my garage and under her cover.. Might get severe storms tonight with possible tornado but that chance is supposed to be slim but not ruled out.. I should really stop procrastinating and fix the roof to the leantoo but not really my property but tired of looking at the shotty roof frame that is there. Never ride faster then your angel can fly. I am as free as the wind on my face.
