Davin Posted May 31, 2017 #251 Posted May 31, 2017 Installed Baron V4 logo water pymp and timing hole covers today. Filled the radiator with new coolant and ran the motor til it got hot enough to activate the fan. No leaks [emoji2] yee haa. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
mm482 Posted June 1, 2017 #252 Posted June 1, 2017 I stared about three weeks ago checking out a no charge condition. I have only been able to work on it about 30-45 minutes at the time, due to my lower back, hips and the author boys. My voltage regulator is hard wired in, so I had to go to the stator connector down under the battery and fuel filter to check the stator. It checked out to be shorted to ground. I was hoping I could get the stator cover off without lowering the exhaust pipe, but that was a no go. This afternoon I dropped the exhaust and the cover popped right off. I was looking to see the stator showing signs of over heating, but to the eye it looks perfect. I grabbed my meter and did a recheck. It may look good, but it is shorted to ground. Tomorrow I will try to get the screws out. I hope I can put it back together faster than I took it apart. LOL Earl
Great adVENTURE Posted June 2, 2017 #253 Posted June 2, 2017 Spent the last week waiting for parts to come in. Ordered RSTD 2" over stock Venture throttle cables, had 4" over stock Venture clutch line and front brake lines made, and got a used pair of Flanders bars. All went super easy and smooth on the install. Cables and hoses have the right amount of slack, not to much and not to little. Now for the disappointment... my wrist angle makes it extremely painful for me to pull the clutch and brake levers for more than a short ride. So if anyone knows anyone with this on there wish list I will make a hell of a deal.
videoarizona Posted June 2, 2017 #254 Posted June 2, 2017 Thought I would have some fun so I watched as a fuse blew. Twice.

rbig1 Posted June 2, 2017 #258 Posted June 2, 2017 well I think a plane flew over and dropped a hot load on the seat. took a lot to get it all off
Davin Posted June 4, 2017 #259 Posted June 4, 2017 (edited) Installed braided lines and a master cylinder rebuild kit last night. Test rode today and the brakes are soooo much better. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Edited June 6, 2017 by Davin
Davin Posted June 5, 2017 #260 Posted June 5, 2017 Just thought I'd share some pics of my fortnightly ride. Each time I pick my youngest (11 yrs old) daughter up from school on Friday and drop her off on Monday morning, this is what I get to enjoy. We travel through Brisbane city for about an hour of boring motorways until we get out in the countryside to where her school is. It's a three hour round trip for me but I feel like riding on and on every time. The RSV is such a pleasure to ride I am looking forward to doing some real touring soon. Mopar4ever Posted June 6, 2017 #261 Posted June 6, 2017 Put another 300km on her riding around the Fraser Valley, and out to Columbia Valley South of Cultus Lake. She's not running super smooth so I'm gonna pull the plugs and have a look.
N3FOL Posted June 7, 2017 #262 Posted June 7, 2017 Today, Tomorrow and the next day - will ride the bike as much as I can.
Flyinfool Posted June 7, 2017 #263 Posted June 7, 2017 I did some tweaking on the suspension, added some more air to the rear and set the damping down to 1. The front now has no air and I think I am going back to 10W fork oil. Still have to find some old negatives to see if I can get lucky and be able to clean some gunk out of the right fork seal to stop the leak. But it sure rides and handles much better now.
rbig1 Posted June 8, 2017 #264 Posted June 8, 2017 well left mine out all night. Then got up this morning went to the local yama shop and picked up a gasket. It looked more like a hardly shop. Forgot where home was ran through a tank of fuel. The corn looks 10inchs high already. But I wasn't driving warp speed. I smell frost.......
mm482 Posted June 17, 2017 #265 Posted June 17, 2017 Things I finished up today Stator is in and now charging system is putting out 14 volts Got new fuel filter put in New spark plugs put in Installed a Dana 3000 ignition box, set it at 7,000 RPM and ignition to level 5 The battery was only two years old, but I went back with a new one. Tomorrow I plan a good shake down run if the weather cooperates. Next week I plan to take a six day trip to the mountains.
rbig1 Posted June 17, 2017 #266 Posted June 17, 2017 well I fired the beast up and went cruising all over town. started out just going to grocery store. felt great to put around

Cool! I put the fairing back together this morning after letting JB Weld cure a speaker problem on the RSV. Then patted her nose and went inside to clean house. Company coming for daddy's day.
mm482 Posted June 18, 2017 #268 Posted June 18, 2017 I did about 120 miles shake down ride today and all was well. I think she is ready to go to the mountains for a few days. Earl
Davin Posted June 20, 2017 #269 Posted June 20, 2017 Picked up a 18" roadliner wheel to drop in my 99RSV. Should be in by the weekend with a Pirelli night dragon tire. Looking forward to lighter steering. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
bongobobny Posted June 21, 2017 #270 Posted June 21, 2017 Nice find!! That is one of the next additions on my trike...
sleepy2 Posted June 21, 2017 #271 Posted June 21, 2017 MarCarl helped me(mostly him)to put the Clutch Upgrade kit sold by skydoc17 in my 2012 Venture yesterday.
Mike G in SC Posted June 21, 2017 #272 Posted June 21, 2017 Replaced the brake fluid in my front and rear brakes and clutch on my 2006 RSTD. Reasonably easy cause I installed speed bleeders years ago. Mike G in SC
Mike G in SC Posted June 21, 2017 #273 Posted June 21, 2017 Had my Ultimate rider seat replaced on my 2006 RSTD. I had talked to Des (Ultimate owner) at Daytona bike week last year told him at 107 K miles it was showing wear (just the rider seat as this is my solo bike). He gave me a good price on recovering. Called down to Dave and he honored the price + return ship. I got the new seat in two days. He had me send the old seat as a core and as soon as they got it Libby credited my card with $135. Looks new,,, well it is. Really impressed with how fast they shipped and great customer service, even while most were at Americade. I also have a full Ultimate set on my Goldwing trike. Mike G in SC
Sylvester Posted June 21, 2017 #275 Posted June 21, 2017 Starting Sunday I synced the carbs after a rebuild earlier, yesterday I put the air plenum back on and removed the Carb tune hoses and replaced the vacuum hoses, and today I drained the final drive and oil. Tomorrow I will replace oil and Hypoid gear oil. The brake and clutch fluid follows and then drain and replace the engine coolant. A super clean on engine and body and all is good for the next 50k.
