Jcgfree Posted November 15, 2016 #4 Posted November 15, 2016 Nice video. Did you know that you can take the rear end of a VMax and put it on a Royal Star Venture? Talked with a Yamaha mechanic in Tennessee who said he and other mechanics who went to a Yamaha class for updates were looking at it and said it looked like it could be done. So they did it. He said that Royal Star Venture ran much better in the hills of Tennessee.
Freebird Posted November 15, 2016 #5 Posted November 15, 2016 A number of us here have done that. It is not a direct swap. The RSV has a place for the speedo sensor to fit. The VMax does not. You either have to drill a hole and machine a flat spot on the VMax rear or install the VMax gears into a RSV housing. Many of us do like it though.
tnt05venture Posted November 15, 2016 #6 Posted November 15, 2016 Check out http://www.rmsportmax.com. John installed my Vmax gears and did a great job. It made riding 2-up and pulling a trailer a lot more enjoyable! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
