OK folks. I finally got around to taking some pictures of my '05 Royal Star Midnight Venture. I know that there are many here just as nice but this one is mine so I'll show it off a little. A lot of extras on it. A lot was already on it when I bought the bike. Some more was added over the past month or so. Not a whole lot more that I want to do. A couple of things that I'll get around to sooner or later. The only thing that I will be doing VERY soon is adding the longer SS throttle cables. The stock cables are just a bit tight with the RSTD bars that I installed today. Here is list of extras that are on it. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but this is most of it.

They are Dunlop. I'm personally not a fan of them but they were on there when I bought it. I'll probably go with Dunlop E3s or E4s if they are available in the right size when I'm ready. Whatever, I will go to black walls.

After reading many complaints with the Metzler brand I have I'm probably going back to Dunlop also. That's what I always ran on other bikes, (Elite , and Elite II as it's been quite some time) but will go with the latest. I've always liked the wide whites on a dresser type bike although black will look good also.

As with most of us married guys, my wife will make the final decision.....

A perfect, beautiful, complete bike.

All it needs now is a few scratches, run it through a few mud puddles, and ride, ride, ride!! :biker:

(Just kidding, probably the best example of what can be done to personalize a Venture... I'm jealous!)

Great looking bike. Now go put some bug splat on it.... :-) :thumbsup2:

Oh trust me...it had plenty of bug splat. Eileen and I recently did about a 275 mile ride on a Sunday while the Cicadas were still active. It was covered with them. Took a lot of cleaning before I took those pictures.

LOL gotta love that bug Au Jus... I've found that if you use PAM on the fairing and lowers before hand, the stuff rinses right off. You don't want to use it on the windshield.. Don't ask me how I know that... :) Still lemon pledge on the shield..

Still lemon pledge on the shield.

I'll get you guys a part number for a product from GRC chemicals we use on radar displays to preclude smearing and anything sticking. It remains a lot longer than furniture polish.

It's not so much treating the windshield Rob, as cleaning it. Lemon Pledge may be a furniture polish but it makes a dandy bug remover and cleaner when used with a micro-fiber towel. I carry a can in the saddle bag, and at the end of the day the shield looks brand new.
