Freebird Posted July 9, 2016 #1 Posted July 9, 2016 OK folks. I finally got around to taking some pictures of my '05 Royal Star Midnight Venture. I know that there are many here just as nice but this one is mine so I'll show it off a little. A lot of extras on it. A lot was already on it when I bought the bike. Some more was added over the past month or so. Not a whole lot more that I want to do. A couple of things that I'll get around to sooner or later. The only thing that I will be doing VERY soon is adding the longer SS throttle cables. The stock cables are just a bit tight with the RSTD bars that I installed today. Here is list of extras that are on it. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but this is most of it. 2005 Yamaha Royal Star Midnight Venture Russell Day Long heated seat Utopia backrest covered by Russell to match Corbin passenger backrest covered by Russell to match Yamaha ball milled air filter covers Yamaha ball milled carb covers Yamaha ball milled twinky covers Yamaha luggage rack Yamaha passing lights Yamaha chrome front gas tank bolt covers Yamaha chrome passenger floorboard backing plates Yamaha front fender guard Yamaha saddle bag guards Yamaha saddle bag liners Yamaha Headlamp and turn signal visors Yamaha chrome oil cap Yamaha tail light visor Yamaha Chrome passenger floorboards Yamaha Chrome rider floorboards Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe handlebars The Diamond Cut Guy triple cut cooling fins. 10spd Posted July 9, 2016 #5 Posted July 9, 2016 Looks good to me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Rob Swallows Posted July 9, 2016 #6 Posted July 9, 2016 Looks really nice. Mine pales in comparison. What tires do you have? I like the wide whites and may do the same. Thanks, Rob
Freebird Posted July 9, 2016 Author #7 Posted July 9, 2016 They are Dunlop. I'm personally not a fan of them but they were on there when I bought it. I'll probably go with Dunlop E3s or E4s if they are available in the right size when I'm ready. Whatever, I will go to black walls.
Rob Swallows Posted July 9, 2016 #8 Posted July 9, 2016 After reading many complaints with the Metzler brand I have I'm probably going back to Dunlop also. That's what I always ran on other bikes, (Elite , and Elite II as it's been quite some time) but will go with the latest. I've always liked the wide whites on a dresser type bike although black will look good also. As with most of us married guys, my wife will make the final decision.....
VanRiver Posted July 10, 2016 #9 Posted July 10, 2016 Wow, looks amazing! Gives me the itch to buy a Gen II now! Thanks for the pics!
Yammer Dan Posted July 10, 2016 #10 Posted July 10, 2016 I could put all the pieces in a pile and take pics.......
venturesome Posted July 10, 2016 #13 Posted July 10, 2016 A perfect, beautiful, complete bike. All it needs now is a few scratches, run it through a few mud puddles, and ride, ride, ride!! (Just kidding, probably the best example of what can be done to personalize a Venture... I'm jealous!)
Condor Posted July 11, 2016 #16 Posted July 11, 2016 Great looking bike. Now go put some bug splat on it.... :-)
cowpuc Posted July 11, 2016 #17 Posted July 11, 2016 WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW:178:,, she is GORGEOUS Bossman!!:guitarist 2::thumbsup:
Freebird Posted July 11, 2016 Author #18 Posted July 11, 2016 Great looking bike. Now go put some bug splat on it.... :-) Oh trust me...it had plenty of bug splat. Eileen and I recently did about a 275 mile ride on a Sunday while the Cicadas were still active. It was covered with them. Took a lot of cleaning before I took those pictures.

I've found that if you use PAM on the fairing and lowers before hand, the stuff rinses right off. You don't want to use it on the windshield.. Don't ask me how I know that... Still lemon pledge on the shield..
Rob Swallows Posted July 11, 2016 #20 Posted July 11, 2016 Still lemon pledge on the shield. I'll get you guys a part number for a product from GRC chemicals we use on radar displays to preclude smearing and anything sticking. It remains a lot longer than furniture polish.

It remains a lot longer than furniture polish. It's not so much treating the windshield Rob, as cleaning it. Lemon Pledge may be a furniture polish but it makes a dandy bug remover and cleaner when used with a micro-fiber towel. I carry a can in the saddle bag, and at the end of the day the shield looks brand new.
Yammer Dan Posted July 11, 2016 #22 Posted July 11, 2016 Jack is right. If you use wax or pledge or about anything on clear plastic it doesn't yellow or get cloudy.
sho_greg Posted February 20, 2017 #25 Posted February 20, 2017 Good lookin bike.. the black and leather go together well... like the saddlebag tops.. where'd you get them.. also the tank bib.. where'd you get??
