I KNOW some of you will appreciate this as much as I did/do.. I recently learned that @Old Man Zzzz is another one of us old school types who lived the life of the Chopper rider back in the day... Z disclosed this to me in a recent conversation we had about our scoots and what we have been thru to get us to where ever we happen to be at this time. Z e-mailed me a couple pics of his early day rides and, of course, I asked about sharing them here - to which (thankfully) he agreed!!!!!!

Z,,, I am gonna leave it to you to describe what we are looking at here brother (VERY IMPRESSIVE - Pan's I :178: over but Knucks I am :173: in LOVE with).. Ok,, I'll shut up...

Tell us how it was and what it's allll about brother!! AND THANK YOU FOR BEING WILLING TO SHARE!!

Sleeping bag and canvas made a great backrest til you found something a little warmer to fill that back seat then you just moved the gear to the back of the Sissy Bar!!

I got into motorcycles, because when we were allowed to live off base, a buddy of mine getting out of the Navy rented a house and needed a roommate to help with the rent.

He also was building a chopper literally in the kitchen. They were pretty hot commodity back then. So I immediately started the looking.

The orange with the hard ass sitting on it(Lol)...in my early 20's, was my 1st motorcycle, mid 60's knucklehead, ex police bike, stripped down, customized, and no electric start. Used to spend time after work riding around a cul de sac until Igot comfortable riding it, just like a kid with his first bicycle. It was the one I used to get my MC endorsement inCA. Don't remember what happened to it to this day, think I sold it, or traded it, but couldn't be sure.

The So Cal chopper was my 2d bike, late 50'spanhead, bought it prior to being transferred to WA state for duty. So when Igot my orders, Shipped my stuff, and me and the bike trekked our way from SanDiego to Whidbey Isl Wa. With a 1 gal peanut tank, and a gallon of gas strappedto the sissy bar, took about 4 days to make the trip. No issues the wholetrip.

My kidneys were never the same after that trip......

Then got married, and thought it was the rightmove to let it go to another single dude who would appreciate it, so it sold back in 73 for $2500. If I recall I only paid $3K for it,

these days, priceless.....:Cartoon_397: :backinmyday: Enjoy !!!

Yeah that Pan stirs some gray cells. Mine was a little more stretched and raked. With a Grundy 16 over twisted tube front. That hardtail would numb ya. And I was a Bling fan then. Chrome and Candy Apple Red!! I do have one pic the Ex didn't burn. But I hid it so good I cain't find it. And wouldn't know how to put it on here.
