Just joined with membership and thought I would post information on lowering my 2010 Royal Star 1300. First some back ground. My first bike 12+ years ago was a 2003 Honda Ace 750. Sold that after a year of so and got 2005 Yamaha Road Star 1100. Great bike. But had a bit of a brain cramp and bought a 2007 Honda GL1800 with Lehman trike kit. Great bike for long rides (take a 7-10 road trip each summer in to souther states). This summer we did Canadian Maritime, Cabot trail and then back home through US States. Great ride but boring. Put the trike up for sale and had a guy from P.E.I. Buy with cash and his 2010 Venture. Did the deal sight unseen. Met him in Ottawa and swapped bikes.

My first attempt to ride made me aware that I was vertically challenged. I was on tip toes when stopped and felt it was top heavy. I had the front end lowered through the triple tree by 1'' and installed rear lowering kit...gave me another 1 1/2". What a huge difference. Handlying is so much easier especially at low speeds and I am flat foot when stopped. This bike has 92,000 kilometres (57,000 miles) and is in immaculate condition. Previous owner kept records of every dollar spent...gas, maintenance, accessories. So, anyone vertically challenged, don't pass up on these beautiful bikes because you think you are too short. Lowering it made all the difference in the world.
