SO... I looked at all the starter clutch install info I could find here on the site and checked the tech manual for my question and found no info there either so my question is this:

Should I soak the starter clutch assembly in engine oil prior to installation, wet it with oil, or just install it dry?

My clutch is newly overhauled and modded so it's defiantly dry except for the assembly oil used by the over hauler.

Just put a bit of engine oil on the working parts.

The taper fit on the end of the crank and inside of flywheel should remain dry.

About 2 seconds after the engine starts it will be doused in engine oil anyhow.

And your starter clutch mod is???

Definitely not the best, that is what I do....

If I could (knew how) to read stored messages I'd be able to tell you more about the mod. The stock clutch has 3 rollers where the ring gear rides inside the fly wheel in the modded one there are 17 rollers and be build of heavier parts; a member here on the forum did it for me.

Apparently from what I can divine from my now available older emails YOU did the mod for me!
