DblTrbl Posted July 1, 2016 #1 Posted July 1, 2016 Purchased a set of horns from Rivco at Americade. I know one horn can go were the stock horn is on my Venture but anyone have an idea about a location to mount the 2nd horn?
XV1100SE Posted July 1, 2016 #2 Posted July 1, 2016 SlowrollWV was making mounts for the horns that puts them below and behind the passenger floorboards. I have two Stebel horns on my bike, one on each side. I left the stock horn in it's position (because the third Stebel horn started to discolour - talk about loud with THREE Stebel horns !)
djh3 Posted July 2, 2016 #3 Posted July 2, 2016 So have mounted them up under the fairing. I took the lower left trim panel off the leg fairing and mounted up in there. It was pretty much out of weather and worked well. Be sure to wire them up with a relay.
bongobobny Posted July 2, 2016 #4 Posted July 2, 2016 Guys, not sure but I think Dennis wants to know where the stock second horn is located...
cowpuc Posted July 2, 2016 #5 Posted July 2, 2016 2nd Gen? Brothers, Larry ( @Carbon_One ) hung a set of horns on Tweeksis (Tweeks Sister) before she found her new home here in our garage and WOWZY - do they honk!!! Maybe he will chime in here!!! Now if we were talking Antelope Horns,,,,,,
videoarizona Posted July 2, 2016 #6 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) OK, on a second gen, one horn is in left side of fairing, second is on right side next to the passenger foot rest. I bought a mount from one of our member vendors and mounted my Stebel behind the passenger foot rest... Wired in tandem with fairing mounted stock horn through a relay. Works like a charm. On the picture, you can see original stock horn I left on bike(not plugged in) just in front of rear exhaust pipe behind trannie cover, and the Stebel behind the same exhaust pipe, behind the passenger foot rest. Freebird Posted July 2, 2016 #7 Posted July 2, 2016 Just to clarify....the left horn is inside the left LOWER...not the upper fairing.
