I just rode my new to me 89 back from the shop,brakes,carbs,clutch slave cylinder done, and inspected. the first tem min of the ride no problems, then I noticed I lost the dash, Ie no turn signals,horn tach, nothing. but the radio cb and headlights work. get home try and start the bike nothing, but the display is on but if I push the horn the display cuts out, was thinking the battery, but this morning the bike started fine but no display. so I am kind of loss here

Your "SIGNAL" fuse is blown or as is very common, the fuse holder clips are not holding the fuse firmly and a poor connection at the fuse results.

Replacing the old fuse box with a ATC/ATO type fuse block is recommended. Here is my setup:

[That looks nice, I did have 1 clip break on the acc fuse .thanks for the help
