KIC Posted June 18, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 18, 2016 Ironically my friend just sent me these pictures and the following text a couple of days ago: Came across an African Twin rolling through town. The rider is from Japan writing an article for a Japanese magazine. The bike is amazingly well balanced and he said there is no wind to deal with on the highway. Awesome. Available in August. cowpuc Posted June 19, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 19, 2016 I worked in a Honda Shop back in 73 when the CR250M Elsinores came out and had the first one in West Michigan = there was MAGIC between those bars!! When the CRF450's came out I had a buddy who bought one and I spent a fair amount a time both woods and track riding that puppy - there was MAGIC between those bars!! I just gotta hunch that this 1 Litre CRF is gonna once again - Honda KNOWS how to put MAGIC between those bars!!! Good post Tuffy - thanks!! midnightventure Posted June 19, 2016 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2016 I have the Yamaha Tenere that is their competition for the Africa Twin. I really like it. It is pretty quick and handles well on the highway and can also cut between on gravel really well also. The prices on 3 year old bikes have really dropped because Yamaha dumped a whole bunch of brand new 2013s on the market. I got mine with 36000 miles and $4000 in accessories for $7800 last fall. The only problem is that it is awful easy to ride fast. I'm still putting more miles on the Venture because it is my work bike and I am saving the Tenere for long trips.
