blaine1 Posted June 17, 2016 #1 Posted June 17, 2016 when a tire comes, wrapped in cellophane do u leave the cellophane on until yr ready to use it or take it off.Blaine,
10spd Posted June 17, 2016 #2 Posted June 17, 2016 I believe it's on there to keep the tire clean from other chemicals that could harm the rubber. I would leave on it till you use it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
MikeWa Posted June 17, 2016 #3 Posted June 17, 2016 Keep it wrapped. Even just air moving across a motorcycle tire can cause the rubber to dry out. This can lead to cracking later in life. Mike
Rick Haywood Posted June 17, 2016 #4 Posted June 17, 2016 How do you keep the air off the tire when you ride it LOL
aharbi Posted June 17, 2016 #5 Posted June 17, 2016 I guess it depends for how long. I would want to check and see if its the tire I ordered, date of manufacture on the tire, and check for any defects. Most places have a limited time to return the item.
slowrollwv Posted June 18, 2016 #6 Posted June 18, 2016 I would unwrap it and let the tire spread out. Makes mounting a lot easier. Check the date on the tire also.
vzuden Posted June 18, 2016 #7 Posted June 18, 2016 How do you keep the air off the tire when you ride it LOL Hey Rick. He did say to leave the plastic on Might gradually get more difficult as you increase in speed too.
Yammer Dan Posted June 19, 2016 #8 Posted June 19, 2016 How do you keep the air off the tire when you ride it LOL Keep the rear in line with the front cuts down on the air on the rear. :Avatars_Gee_George:Cuts down on riding the West by God twisties..:95:You are on your own on the front.........
djh3 Posted June 20, 2016 #9 Posted June 20, 2016 I dont order one until I'm ready to change. I open it up, let the beads spread a little if need be and check date codes right away. I got a tie once that the freakin beads were touching. I had to put a couple wood blocks in to spread it a little. Or I would have never got it to seat.
