Air Ready Auto Posted June 15, 2016 #1 Posted June 15, 2016 Some of you read my struggles and know how Lucy got her name. Long story short, it involved the not so fun to remove flywheel. Shortly after contacting Dano and getting everything ready to send out for his master rebuild, my wife (who had no idea I had bought Lucy and a few parts for her) calls me and tells me that her car is now a paperweight. I check it out and it did indeed move on to the great highway in the sky. That lead to talks of a newer car and her checking our finances and,,, we'll me on the couch for a few nights/week. So Saturday I get home from work and there is a package for me. She tells me to open it. I do and there is a heavy duty starter clutch, gear and flywheel. I was more than a touch surprised. She tells me happy father's day and to go fix the bike so I can ride it by father's day. She had gotten with one of my buddies and bribed him with food to talk to me and figure out what parts I needed and ordered them. I love that woman. I have put about 80 miles on Lucy now and she is a dream to ride. So,,,,,, now the tech question. She is super quiet. I don't want her to sound like one of those obnoxious noise machines but a little more noise would be nice. Any suggestions? Also, does anybody have any experience with these heavy duty 6 pin starter clutches? I know they aren't as good as Dano's mod but will it at least last somewhat longish? P.s. my wife may have had an alternative motive for getting me the parts because she wound up with a much nicer/newer car than I had planned... still, I really love that woman.
Flyinfool Posted June 15, 2016 #3 Posted June 15, 2016 Glad you are going again. Your wife sounds like a keeper.
