Does anyone have a spare valve cover bolt they would like to sell (I only need one)?

Last time I was in Arizona visiting my 1986 Venture Royale "AZZI", I was replacing the leaky valve cover gaskets....anyway I got a little "enthusiastic" while tightening one bolt and snapped it off. And it just happens that in all my Venture spare parts and bolt collections I do not have an extra!

I will be heading down to AZ again next month and need to fix her up so I can ride again in that "dry heat". I thought I would see if any members might have a spare bolt they wouldn't mind selling me as I don't want to have to buy a whole new set off of eBay for the big $$$ they are asking.

Let me know if you have one or two you are willing to part with. By the way they look like this for reference:

I have them. I can get one to VideoArizona to take up to you when you are in AZ. I did the same thing to my 89, so I feel for you.. I was ready to trash the bike when I broke mine since I wasn't going to pull the engine, but was talked through the procedure to remove the broken one and replace it. This forum has saced my butt so many times !! :cool10::happy65:

Thanks @KIC, much appreciated and yes I will take you up on the offer if @videoarizona doesn't mind being the messenger! I owe you buddy!

Couldn't agree with you more, this forum has also saved my butt many times as well, plus got to meet a lot of great people too! Can't put a price on that.

Thanks again KIC!

Just a side note... These bolts bottom out and can't be torqued down to stop an oil leak. It's best to put a washer under the bolt head. Generally that will give enough extra pressure on the gasket to tighten things up.

It takes a very thin washer under the bolt head to stop the oil leak. I went to a chain and bolt wholesale place and bought some very thin washers that I could not find at the local Ace or other hardware stores.

Hey @KIC, thank you so much for the bolts!

No worries, I will not be in Phoenix until July 16th, so there is no rush. Either way is fine with me...I don't want to impose too much on you or David since you guys have been so kind and are already really helping me out.

I usually have my mail service turned off until a few days before we arrive in PHX, so if you do put them in the mail please wait until closer to July 16th.... that might be better to save David a trip. I'll send you some cash to cover the postage. I'll also PM you my mailing address in AZ.

Thanks again!
