Ok, got the Zumo. Installed a 1 gig card.

I decided to get Napster since it is MP3 compatible.

Had to get Windows Media Player so Napster would move songs to a device.

I bought songs on Napster.

Tried to synch by following directions.

Windows Media Player can "see" my Garmin Zumo and the SD card.

NOTHING will transfer to the card -- not even the songs I "paid for".

What am I missing?

Many thnx, DREBBIN

Don't know. Have you tried to copy the files by using my computer. Napster has a nasty habit of marking the content as protected. So you may have to burn it like your burning a cd. You may need to call napster support. They have spent a lot of time trying to be sure you cannot copy the music.

What I had bought from napster a year or more ago was coming in as Windows Media files. Which the Zumo can't handle.

Drebbin , Why pay for Napster , when you can get LimeWire for Free . Most music is MP3 or WMV on which you have to get a codec . I only download MP3 into a specific folder then double check with virus scan . I download from Limewire all the time for my Zumo .

What folder you have your songs downloaded too ? I simply have 3 folders for music , one being limewire/music and my music in my documents and the other my scan folder .

Try doing a search / music /MP3 in your computer . When all MP3 music is found , check properties to make sure there MP3's (or you may have to convert them ) , select all and move into a separate folder . Then transfer into SD card for Zumo .

Yup. In Windows Media Player all my Napster songs sjow up as .wma files. I dragged them to the drive for the SD card in the Zumo -- they show up as being on the SD card (drive H). But when I turn on the Zumo tain't nuttin thar. I sent a msg to Napster and Garmin support. Oh well, at least I got the XM to work. Many thnx, DREBBIN

On page 37 of the manual it states that the Zumo will play ONLY MP3's

Yup -- and Napster will not move any MP3 to my Zumo. It says to use WM Player 10 or higher. Which I did. But that converts all MP3 to .wav !! Frustrating, I'll see what Garmin comes back with as well as Napster. Many thnx, DREBBIN

Drebbin ,

You will have to convert the wma's to MP3's if you are going to use Napster . There is freeware on the web that converts to MP3 but most wish to place a google search bar on your browser . If you have itune , it can be used to convert to MP3 .
