Mike G in SC Posted May 27, 2016 #1 Posted May 27, 2016 A STAR friend called me today. Said Yamaha dealers are told the the mother-ship is announcing two bikes June 8, noon Eastern,,,, this year. His dealer thinks,,, one is some kind of tourer. Yep,,,,.
bongobobny Posted May 27, 2016 #3 Posted May 27, 2016 Give it UP already, Yamaha AIN'T making a new Venture!!
BigLenny Posted May 27, 2016 #4 Posted May 27, 2016 I'm with Bongo on this one. I got some news like that last September at Bikes Blues and BBQ from a Yamaha corporate dude. Said they were gonna announce in December last year. I got all excited and got on the forum here and told everyone of my good news. Well, we all know how that went. So, no more believing Yamaha announcement stories for me.
videoarizona Posted May 27, 2016 #5 Posted May 27, 2016 I do think Yamaha needs to stay in touring business. If only to have a flagship scoot to show. Look at the time frame between first and second gens. I would say they are right on time.... We shall see.....
eusa1 Posted May 27, 2016 #6 Posted May 27, 2016 I have not got my break in miles completed yet anyway!
steamer Posted May 27, 2016 #7 Posted May 27, 2016 So what are they going to do? Put a trunk on the 1100?
eusa1 Posted May 27, 2016 #9 Posted May 27, 2016 this will give us nothing to talk about at this years root beer run!! june 25th
Gray Ghost Posted May 27, 2016 #10 Posted May 27, 2016 Last year I was working at a Yamaha dealership when the new models were released. We found out what they were when everyone else found out. Rumors are worth exactly the amount you paid for them.
leroy Posted May 28, 2016 #11 Posted May 28, 2016 Heard the same BS at the Dallas International Motorcycle Show. I asked and the excuse was, Oh, they held back releasing it so as to tweek some things. Sure, and Yamaha is bringing back a two stroke with a kick starter but 1000cc.
Mike G in SC Posted May 29, 2016 Author #15 Posted May 29, 2016 I'm not hopeful for anything. I've moved on to a GW trike.
MikeWa Posted May 29, 2016 #16 Posted May 29, 2016 Yamaha will not make a move until they have lost their entire customer base and someone is looking around asking. What Happened. Mike
Guest Jamsie Posted May 29, 2016 #17 Posted May 29, 2016 wether or not the bring out a new venture , only time will tell. personally it would be well out of my price range, never had a new bike in 30 years. my car was new when i got it 3 years ago. first time i have had a new car , but it only cost £1 for the raffle ticket
WildBill1 Posted May 31, 2016 #18 Posted May 31, 2016 Just not enough bucks to be made in the touring market compared to the sport bike market. Anyway that V4 just lasts too long not enough repeat buyers.
jakester Posted May 31, 2016 #19 Posted May 31, 2016 Haven't you heard....Yamaha ran out of tape decks.
XV1100SE Posted May 31, 2016 #20 Posted May 31, 2016 The Gold Wing is going hybrid....so think future tech with the guaranteed to be released new Venture touring bike. Yamaha has been playing with 3 cylinder motors and getting some good horsepower out of them. You never know.....

Anyway that V4 just lasts too long not enough repeat buyers. More profit margin in the more expensive bikes, don't need to sell as much volume to make the same profit.
MikeWa Posted May 31, 2016 #22 Posted May 31, 2016 Just not enough bucks to be made in the touring market compared to the sport bike market. WildBill1 Posted May 31, 2016 #23 Posted May 31, 2016 Well I bet if I spent some time on the old inter-web there is still a half a dozen new 2011 Yamaha Ventures tuck away waiting to be sold. So why should Yamaha dump money in a mediocre seller. Just pickup one of these babies for 15 to 16k and ride it for 10 to 15 years.
