Wind Screen bolt on bar ?

I noticed a threaded hole right in the middle of the Wind Screen bolt on bar .

is there supposed to be a bolt in that location ? I looked in the book and

con not find a thing .

I'm not sure what you mean.. I picture of what you are talking about would be very helpful. I don't recall having a screw in the middle of the windscreen. Just screws on either side that are hidden when you put the chrome piece on..

From the parts diagram (Cowling 1) I believe you are referring to #8 - bolt, flange 95807-06012

Without a picture it is difficult to be sure we are talking about the same thing, but it was pretty common for dealers to not properly set up these bikes when un-crating them. I have personally seen several that were missing the center mounting bolt from the windshield bar - usually they just have a zip tie in the hole for some stupid reason.

I think its a reverse thread from looking at it to hold the center

of the cowl on place.

Ok this is what I am talking about, even stopped by the stealer

for something else. I even bought a couple of these as well.

The parts guy says a bolt go though it from the back side to expand it ,

not sure how you get a bolt in the back side in that location.

 

Mike, I have a present for you. oh and there was no part number on his screen

for that bolt, it is looking like the same bolt as what we use for mounting the windscreen.

the bolt you want is not # 8 it is # 34 and the part # is 92017-05012-00

must be the same as the windshield bolt I am thinking, and what better offer would there be beside a root beer?

We are checking to see if the wife has to work that weekend silly. 96.7899 % sure will be there :-)
