Doing front wheel bearings on 98 RSTC, what about rear?

40 k miles....going to do front wheel bearings and brake pads. Is it typical to also do rear bearing seal kit at the same time? This is my first shafts drive bike.....

I would just check the bearings per the service manual and pack in some fresh moly grease. No need to change them if they aren't bad. 40k is not going to wear them out unless they have been abused.
