Skid Posted May 16, 2016 #1 Posted May 16, 2016 Quick question. I know you can change the headlight without splitting the fairing but is there a clip or something keeping it from coming out? And also which way to turn it to remove?
Bones Posted May 16, 2016 #4 Posted May 16, 2016 Glad someone got it... I can get my hand in there. I no got it...
Skid Posted May 17, 2016 Author #5 Posted May 17, 2016 It wasn't easy. It took a while and lots of patients.
Skid Posted May 17, 2016 Author #6 Posted May 17, 2016 I went with the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulb
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2016 #7 Posted May 17, 2016 Gee, it only takes 10 - 15 minutes to split the fairing, then a minute or two max to change out the bulb...
Skid Posted May 17, 2016 Author #8 Posted May 17, 2016 I didn't split the fairing since I'm on the road. I took the hard way.
Eck Posted May 17, 2016 #9 Posted May 17, 2016 It wasn't easy. It took a while and lots of patients. And here I was waiting for the technical help video on How Too....... Glad you got it changed Skid. Bet the newer bulb is a lot brighter.
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2016 #11 Posted May 17, 2016 Splitting faring no big deal...if you have a set of metric allen wrenches (and metric wrenches if you have passing lights) when you are on the road!
Skid Posted May 17, 2016 Author #13 Posted May 17, 2016 Yes I have the tools to do it but after a few minutes it turned into determination
Mover Posted May 17, 2016 #15 Posted May 17, 2016 I found and used these instructions. Might have been about 1/2 hr changing the bulb but next time will be much faster. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?26120-Headlight-lamp-replacement&p=683072#post683072
Skid Posted May 17, 2016 Author #16 Posted May 17, 2016 Yes that is the way I done it. Smaller hands would have been easier but patients prevailed. After a little time.
Bones Posted May 19, 2016 #17 Posted May 19, 2016 I tried and my hands are a bit too big... also read the instructions... still too big. I will have to see about splitting the faring I guess.
Skid Posted May 19, 2016 Author #18 Posted May 19, 2016 It took me several tries to get a hold of it just right but finally got it
