2nd Gen? Admiring Don's new scoot and then something popped into my pea brain.

Every time I go back and look at the bosses new scoot:178: I keep coming back to the thought of "20k miles - that beautiful scoot is just getting started!!".. Being the scramble brained type that I am and having no experience with the 2nd Gens that thought is usually followed by the question of "I wonder what it's capable of in accumulated mile's"..

Knowing how shy a lot of your are, this may have to become a "Poll" question but thought I would try this first.. Wondering who has the most miles on their 2nd Gen? Anyone out there with 100k or over? 200k or over? 300K OR OVER??

Any one wanna share about attaining high mileage (not MPG - talking strickly about odometer readings here) and what kind of "Tweekin" ya had to do to get there?

Dont be shy now,,, brag em if got em brothers and sisters!!!!

Can't help you muchly there Puc, but I do think it would take somewhat longer for them to get the miles on,,,,,, just from what I've heard and read, but not necessarily the truth if you get my drift,,,,, just heard it on site eh!

Well Puc I have 90,000 on my 03. the only malignance other than tires and fluid changes are changed the rear shock, Barons clutch plate and adjusted the valves at 50,000 miles.

Mine is just getting broke in at 210,000 miles, I checked the valves at 165k and they did not need any adjustment. gunna go put a few more break in miles on at the end of the month in Arkansas for a weekiphone dump 0416 557.jpg

I guess I have commitment issues......I always love my bike...:biker:

....but I see another pretty face and I just can't help myself! :178:

The most I've manage to stick around for, before I've moved on is 36,000 give or take.........:confused24:

Oh! Does that make me a bad person?! :8:

Somebody else always seems to get my nice bike when I get another one and then I spend the :mo money:to make it my own...........:bang head: I never learn......but they're all so shiny and :bikersmilie:

I think I have a problem....:sign67:

WOWZY - AWESOME PIC AND AWESOME MILEAGE EARL!!!:clap2::dancefool:

LOVE your comment about the valves!!! Looking at the pic I gotta ask,, Tip (my wife) is 5' 8" and I am an even 6'.. She really enjoys the height difference between us on the 1st Gen's and we always wondered about the passenger seat appearing to sit higher on the 2nd than on the 1st Gen's.. Can I be so nosey as to ask how you and the lady on the back of your bike compare to our heights? Reason I ask is you two look like you fit that scoot very well!!

PS - I still think your Diamond Cut bling is the snazziest thing going brother! BEAUTIFUL!!!!

My Dad use to tell me "Son - your only real problem in life has to do with the type of people you run with..." (see pic one)..

My usual response was similar to the person in pic 2...

That said,,, NO - your not a bad person and YES - you probably have a problem but I highly suspect it has very little to do with commitment to motorcycles :big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon:

I always thought the "E" on the front of Eusa stood for "Earl" -- are you beginning to understand how wise my Father was now @The_Tooch

Hey Puc...Lucy is correct, I am just a bit over 5'. When I am fortunate enough to sneak away and snag a ride with eusa1, I have to lean around him to see where we are or where we are going. However I don't do that much because I am just back there enjoying the awesome ride. The 2nd gen passenger seat is a bit higher but it don't mean a thing when the driver can touch your 9' ceiling in your home without getting on his toes. Lol.

I love that pic of Mike and me. What a great day it was.

By the way, B2dad had roughly 86,000 miles on his scoot in the 6 years that he had it. I don't remember him doing much to it, just the usual tires and oil changes. He took good care of it and I'm sure it could have gone on forever.

I bought my bike with 48k miles and previous owner always had it dealer serviced. Bike was in Excellent physical condition and so far has proven to be in very good mechanical condition. My HD owning friends were shocked I bought a bike with "such high mileage" but after all the stories on here of guys with well over 200k on the earlier version I simply respond that "I'll be broken in by time you hit your 3rd rebuild." So far I've done a lot of general maintenance and minor upgrades for my own comfort (braided brake & clutch lines, R1 brake upgrade, stratoliner front wheel when changing tires, heavier fork oil, DIY highway bar stabilizers, valve check). I did buy the bike with a known bad rear shock but knew the cost going into the bike, I've since upgraded the clutch spring while replacing a leaking clutch slave. I think I'm good for another 100k before anything else goes bad!?!

As for passenger comfort: I'm 6'2" and the wife is 5'1", we came off a HD Road King where she was comfortable but somewhat cramped (front to back). I bought this bike when she was 5 mo. pregnant and we still had room between us! The seating height is an issue getting on (short leg problem ) and she says she feels like "a beast" when perched up so high; but then again the whole seating experience is much taller than other cruisers/tourers on the market both driver & passenger.

Gravette and points of interest within a few hours of there

There's plenty of great riding within a few hours of Gravette. Have you ridden in that area before? Let me know if you need some ideas.
