mkflow Posted May 11, 2016 #1 Posted May 11, 2016 Number 2 carb is leaking out of hole that needle goes in. Does this mean carbs have to come off again?
mkflow Posted May 11, 2016 Author #2 Posted May 11, 2016 Number 2 carb is leaking out of hole that needle goes in. Does this mean carbs have to come off again? I guess I should clarify it's the slide needle.
cowpuc Posted May 11, 2016 #3 Posted May 11, 2016 Hmmm,,,, yep,, probably means ya got a float needle letting fuel by and over filling the bowl.. Kind of strange though cause there is an overflow line that empties under the bike in front of the swing arm that should be dripping long before the bowl over fills to the point that fuel will come out of the main jet/metering rod orvice.... Probably sounds crazy but it seems like the probability of this happening has gone up since all the alcohol has been added to fuel - got a hunch that alcohol has an ill effect on float needles or something..
bongobobny Posted May 11, 2016 #4 Posted May 11, 2016 I was thinking somewhere along the lines of float level adjustment myself. Hmmm, maybe I should go out to the garage and stare at my spare set of carbs...
mkflow Posted May 11, 2016 Author #5 Posted May 11, 2016 I figured. Taking carbs off isn't bad, getting cables back on is. For me anyway. Thanks for the input. I'll check it this weekend.
Wilzhere Posted May 18, 2016 #7 Posted May 18, 2016 take your throttle off of bars makes it easy to remove carbs then remove cables from carbs, works for on 1st gen.
