Well I finally brought my trike home even though it's not finished. Twenty months of waiting, questioning and fighting with the deal was 19 months too long. I will finish things up myself or have a local shop do the work.

Looking forward to many SMILES and MILES!!!!

First long trip for the summer will be Minden Ontario Canada (since Lake George is only about 4hrs...can't really call that a long trip).....Then in Sept heading to Maggie Valley NC...

Thanks, it's been a long time getting it back...

He never installed the reverse or the LED light I asked for to be put on the trunk. I have purchased the spoiler w/brake light for the trunk which I hope to put install today.

On the way home I stopped for gas and found that the aux tank filler hole and the hole in the body are offset quite a bit. My concern there is the gas spills out of the full tank and sets on top of the aux fuel tank. Not sure if it's contained or not.....will be contacting Hannigan. I sure don't want it exploding or catching fire while I'm on the road.

Also I noticed the front of the bike leaning to the right when viewed from the front.... I measured the distance from the floor to the bottom of each fork and one side is 3.8" higher than the other.... Have sent dealer pictures and description of both issues. Now the wait begins....

WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW - SHE IS GORGEOUS TROUBLEX2!!!!!!!! :scared::scared::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

All the very best in getting the things sorted out on that purdy thing and finally being able to get out and enjoy your trike!! I just gotta hunch that after you do a few thousand miles on her, you and that pretty scoot are gonna become the BEST of friends!!

Dennis, for the unequal front shocks, check that both shocks have the exact amount of air pressure in them!! Unlike the First Generation Venture where the two shocks are connected pneumatically to each other, the Second Generation are independent...

Thanks Puc. Actually I got it back for most of the summer last year. I took it to Nova Scotia and the WNY Rally. I think broke it in with about 6K miles. Should to that or more this summer with trips to Ontario Canada and North Carolina planned.

My F4 Tall Windshield keeps the bugs off my face and teeth!!

Thanks Bob, looking forward to that trip.

Thinking about taking my time and avoiding freeways. Thinking about an overnight near the border (think I'm going up Rt 2?) Any suggestions??

Ummmm, Route 20 across New York state can be a nice scenic fun ride that goes through a bunch of towns with country between them. Actually that was one of Jonsey's favorite road to get to this side of the state...

That is one thing that kept Silver here in my garage. The Warden wanted me to spend the bucks but giving it to someone I didn't know for major work??? The Hannigan shop closest to here has a site on line but couldn't get any info from them. I need to visit one of the Hannigan shops that could be trusted. But I think I'm just gonna.... I know this is taking forever but I just don't know. Meanwhile the bike is getting closer to being ready for the road and about a month to MD.....:backinmyday: This has been one of the biggest decisions of my life and I seem to be getting nowhere on it. One day I'm just keeping on the next I'm.......:Avatars_Gee_George: Sorry.

Dan, trailer it or ride it DIRECTLY to the Hannigan factory and save money!! Hannigan charges for shipping and crating of the parts to the dealer to the tune of over a thousand dollars or so. That alone will pay for a nice 5 day vacation in Murray, Kentucky. Drop the bike off on Monday morning, pick it up Friday afternoon, and the job will be done RIGHT!!!

Dan, either call Hannigan in Murray KY or send them an email. That info is on their website. Jon-Michael is the new Customer Rep and is very good. He can let you know the most reliable dealer. I wish I had checked with them before my build. I just went by some comments I had seen, by then it was too late.

Got to agree with Bob...If I was to do it over again, I would go to KY and let them build it right the first time. They can usually get your trike out in 3-4 days. Murray is a nice little town. If you like Mexican food you will be in heaven!! OHH and double check directions on your GPS...some of them tell you that Hannigan is NORTH of town but they are actually several miles south of town on the right

Might be an idea if you do the same thing. From the sounds of it the dealer didn't do a very good job on triking your bike. Maybe Hannigan should give it a once over and correct the mistakes.

The dealer did take my trike to Hannigan. They went over the trike and fixed what they found wrong. They also put on a new body and floorboards. I've been told by a very good dealer who builds bikes at Hannigan frequently that it is unheard of for Hannigan to "replace" a body or floorboards. My hat's off to Hannigan for such good customer service.

Why did they have to replace body and floorboards? If you dont mind me asking?

Craig

They did a total hack job cutting the floorboards so they just replaced them...As far as the body, I do not know why. What I was told was the owner decided it was more cost efficient to just give me a new one rather then to spend the time to strip down, sand, primer and paint the old one.

Hannigan also did the new paint job that is on the trike. I was told by the dealer when I ordered the trike that he would do the black floorboards and run the black up under the trunk. Well, Hannigan doesn't do that for the Venture. They paint the entire floorboards and body red and just do black around the outside of the wheel wells. I'm sure the dealer ate the bill for the new paint, body and floorboards as well as the cost of his trip to KY for two weeks....

Hmmmm, Hannigan DID do a "Custom" job for me with the black on the body. I didn't spend the extra $1000 for the floorboards though, a decision that sometimes I'm glad I did, and sometimes I'm regret I didn't...

Looked this over and it is the way to go when I get ready. I don't think it is going to be this year but the Warden is pushing me. The run to the plant in Ky. could be done easy. And I would get it right. Turning loose of that much green sucks right now. Obama has chopped my retirement to less than 1/2 of what it was. We will see. I missed the 1st Gen on craigslist in Maryland that I should have got. A 1st Gen Voyager would be interesting. I guess I'll never quit sitting around dreaming about different scoots. And now I have a lot more time to do that. But when I think of bikes I think of 2 wheels before 3.
