chippego Posted April 29, 2016 #1 Posted April 29, 2016 I have what is probably a silly question but here goes. When I removed the side cover on my 09 RSV to replace a fuse I found a little pad with 2 buttons laying on top of the fuse box. Has an Up button and Down button. What is this for? Maybe something I no longer have as it is converted to a trike. Thanks
Wizard765 Posted April 29, 2016 #2 Posted April 29, 2016 Maybe a gagage door opener from a Previous Owner?
Motiv Posted April 29, 2016 #3 Posted April 29, 2016 A picture would be of great help. Sent from my SM-T900 using Tapatalk
The Tooch Posted April 29, 2016 #4 Posted April 29, 2016 Beats me! Never saw such a thing on my 05 or the 13. Sounds like an add on....is it attached to the bike or is it a little remote, just sitting there? Had a small remote control for a car stereo once just had volume up and down buttons. Took a watch battery for power. How about is there air shocks on the trike kit with a compressor wired in somewhere? What's the trike kit?
bongobobny Posted April 29, 2016 #6 Posted April 29, 2016 Simple!! Do you want to go UP the street or DOWN the street?? So far add on garage door opener makes the most sense...
chippego Posted April 29, 2016 Author #8 Posted April 29, 2016 I will try a picture. The bike was bought new by me already triked. It looks to be wired into the bikes wiring. I guess I wasn't crazy after all!
bongobobny Posted April 29, 2016 #9 Posted April 29, 2016 I ain't got 'em on my Hannigan, and mine was done at the factory...
Flyinfool Posted April 30, 2016 #10 Posted April 30, 2016 Push the buttons and see what happens............
chippego Posted April 30, 2016 Author #11 Posted April 30, 2016 Tried that..nothing happened..no "BOOM" Guess I should email dealer. Thanks for the guesses
cowpuc Posted April 30, 2016 #12 Posted April 30, 2016 LED lighting controller? That was my guess too,, a controller for those add on under the tank lights that flicker and flash... Push the buttons and see what happens............ I would!!!:dancefool::clap2: But only if I was using Jeff's finger just in case the switch was wire to the secondary sides of the ignition coils:Laugh:
chippego Posted April 30, 2016 Author #13 Posted April 30, 2016 Hi again. I googled the name on the unit and found out it is a speed adjuster for electonic speedometers. If it isn't factory then I have no idea why it is on the bike! Here is the link. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=238/category_id=-1/mode=prod/prd238.htm
bongobobny Posted April 30, 2016 #14 Posted April 30, 2016 Would have NEVER guessed in a million years!! Hannigan "fixes" the issue with tire size and gear ratio. Didn't like the increased RPM but had to admit the speedometer was dead nuts on, not the usual Yamaha 10mph off! I "corrected" that issue by going with larger diameter tires. Might not blow a Harley off at the line, but cruising on the interstates is at a much more acceptable RPM's, not screaming at 75...
