Great adVENTURE Posted May 15, 2016 #178 Posted May 15, 2016 I hope there will be a before and after comparison
Freebird Posted May 15, 2016 Author #179 Posted May 15, 2016 I posted a couple of before pics already. I'll post some good pics when I'm done though.
Freebird Posted May 16, 2016 Author #181 Posted May 16, 2016 Well, I can add something else now. A set of slowrollwv's polished stainless lower wind deflectors and brackets are on the way.
Flyinfool Posted May 16, 2016 #182 Posted May 16, 2016 Done???? Are you ever really done? Doesn't done mean it is time to sell it and start over?
The Tooch Posted May 16, 2016 #184 Posted May 16, 2016 What about the ignition switch? You going to do the by-pass to take the load off the switch? There something else to do!
Freebird Posted May 16, 2016 Author #185 Posted May 16, 2016 Never did it on the '99. Never had that problem. So I probably won't unless I see some signs of a problem.
Freebird Posted May 16, 2016 Author #186 Posted May 16, 2016 Well @Yammer Dan , I appreciate you posting your list. It allowed me to compare where I'm at. The following are the only things that I don't have yet. Not sure I'll do them all but here it is: Baron's brake reservoir mounted tach (must have sooner or later) SpeedoHealer (will do at some point) Galfer SS Clutch line (someday. 2" over) Flanders Bars (someday) Barnett SS Throttle cables (someday 2" over) VMAX Rear End (not sure yet, maybe someday) Sonic Front Springs (when I need them. That is a lot of work)
Flyinfool Posted May 16, 2016 #187 Posted May 16, 2016 Are you making an offer? Not me, way to much chrome fro me to have to get rid of................
Yammer Dan Posted May 17, 2016 #188 Posted May 17, 2016 And the set of Bubs!! I cain't hide in the pack now.......
Freebird Posted May 17, 2016 Author #189 Posted May 17, 2016 No Bubs for me thank you. I got a set of Bubs with the bike. Traded them for a set of OEM RSTD mufflers like were on the '99 when you go it. Has the Harley mufflers on it now and they are LOUD. I'll enjoy them for a while and then put the RSTDs on it.
Freebird Posted May 19, 2016 Author #191 Posted May 19, 2016 OK...added just a little more...but this is it...no more. Polished stainless lower wind deflectors and brackets from @slowrollwv
bongobobny Posted May 19, 2016 #192 Posted May 19, 2016 Yup!! Got 'em on my bike too!! Ain't they pretty!??!
Freebird Posted May 19, 2016 Author #193 Posted May 19, 2016 Yea, he really does a good job on these. I'm going to back spray those under the fairing soon. Just waiting on a couple of things before I split the fairing so I only have to do it once. When I have it apart, I'll remove those clear deflectors and paint them black on the backside. By the way, the OEM clean lower deflectors wouldn't have been around too much longer. The brackets were cracked about halfway on both of them.
slowrollwv Posted May 19, 2016 #194 Posted May 19, 2016 Looks good Don. Yeah those stock brackets are weak.
Du-Rron Posted May 19, 2016 #195 Posted May 19, 2016 Looks good Don. Yeah those stock brackets are weak. Do you still make these. I didn't see them in the ads....
slowrollwv Posted May 19, 2016 #197 Posted May 19, 2016 Do you still make these. I didn't see them in the ads.... I have one set left to polish.
Du-Rron Posted May 20, 2016 #199 Posted May 20, 2016 OK...added just a little more...but this is it...no more. Polished stainless lower wind deflectors and brackets from @slowrollwv Yur headlight looks like it has rocks in it and the headlight divider looks funny. Is it just me?
Freebird Posted May 20, 2016 Author #200 Posted May 20, 2016 No rocks. The bike had Trucklite HID's in the headlight and passing lights when I bought it. I have no idea what they should look like but they seem to work OK.
