eusa1 Posted April 26, 2016 #26 Posted April 26, 2016 Nanci has always done nice work, I'm sure you will be pleased. thanks for the order of the triple cuts, you will be one of the few with the triples and a great advertisement my friend!! and no more oil spot hd jokes from me to you!! see ya again soon.
eagleeye Posted April 26, 2016 #27 Posted April 26, 2016 Well, you found yourself a real beauty there Don, but I do like the WW's.
Freebird Posted April 26, 2016 Author #28 Posted April 26, 2016 No he wasn't. Said that he had visited a few times but was not a member of any online sites or clubs. Seems like a nice guy. He has several bikes including a Road Glide and a Road Star among others. His dad bought this one new and ordered all the chrome and etc. the day he bought the bike. He then had heart trouble though and never got to ride it much. So he bought it from his Dad a couple of years ago but he just hasn't ridden it much either.
cowpuc Posted April 27, 2016 #30 Posted April 27, 2016 Boy...I don't know. Those white walls sure look pretty to me...especially with the black and chrome! Yessirree... Well, you found yourself a real beauty there Don, but I do like the WW's. I like the white walls too on the black bike. Was the previous owner a VR.org member? I LOVE THE WHITE WALLS TOO!! TIME FOR ANOTHER OFFICIAL VENTURERIDER.ORG CLUB MEMBER POLL!!!!
mabeline Posted April 27, 2016 #31 Posted April 27, 2016 I've got a Russel Day Long on my 08 and really like it. It pretty much tripled my saddle time before I start to squirm. Myself, I'm partial to white walls. Gives the scoot an old school look!
Daveand Barbie Posted April 27, 2016 #32 Posted April 27, 2016 I wouldn't trade my Russell for 5 Corbins. Then again, that's just me.
pope3567 Posted April 27, 2016 #33 Posted April 27, 2016 WOW...what a beauty. Congrats, especially like the look of the white walls! Ron
Pegasus1300 Posted April 27, 2016 #34 Posted April 27, 2016 Congrats on the Venture, that is such a beautiful bike. I too love the white walls,I had them on the Blue 08 RSTD and the really added a lot to the looks. I think the same is true of your RSV. Very classy looking for a very classy guy.
Freebird Posted April 27, 2016 Author #36 Posted April 27, 2016 Well...I haven't even picked it up yet and IT has started. Triple Diamond Cut fins ordered from @eusa1 Also noticed that there is no front fender rail on it...just got that taken care of thanks to Ebay. Working with Nanci, @Luvdaleather on a tank bib and maybe saddlebag lid covers. Things are moving right along.
Freebird Posted April 27, 2016 Author #37 Posted April 27, 2016 OK....leveling links ordered. WOW...and I thought that there was nothing I would be able to add to this bike. I keep remembering things. Will probably forgo the VMax rear and Dyna 3000 for now though.
Luvdaleather Posted April 27, 2016 #38 Posted April 27, 2016 Atta boy Freebird, let's all watch him spend his "Harley Bucks" in all the right places! Freebird, I'll get back to you on the bib either today or Friday. I've got some cool ideas percolating! No shop time tomorrow! I'm actually meeting a friend tomorrow, at Russell Day Long Seats in Redding, CA. He is an ex-Venture Rider and is now having another Russell Seat put on his new bike; a beamer . I'm pretty excited about the visit because I get to see the operation first hand. By the way you guys, this is the first time since I started creating the saddlebag lid covers for the RSV/RSTD/RS bikes that I have had so many on the board! Holy Cow I'm knee deep in Venture Rider orders!
Freebird Posted April 27, 2016 Author #39 Posted April 27, 2016 Touring Russell should be interesting. I'm anxious to try the one on my new bike. It's only a 225 mile ride home but that should give me an idea if I'm going to like it or not.
bongobobny Posted April 27, 2016 #40 Posted April 27, 2016 OK....leveling links ordered. WOW...and I thought that there was nothing I would be able to add to this bike. I keep remembering things. Will probably forgo the VMax rear and Dyna 3000 for now though. Thanks for reminding me to buy a Dyna 3000. More bucks...
Yammer Dan Posted April 28, 2016 #41 Posted April 28, 2016 I could make enough to buy another 1st Gen selling parts!!!
pbjman Posted April 28, 2016 #42 Posted April 28, 2016 Nice! Seeing you got another Venture prompted me to renew my subscription!! (I was going to get around to it anyway, but I wanted to do it now so I could see the pic!) Congrats!!
WildBill1 Posted April 28, 2016 #43 Posted April 28, 2016 Nice choice Boss Man you know how too pickem. Even though with fear of getting kicked off here. I still look at you as a trader for selling that Road Glide. I also do look for my 06 Venture when I'm out and about. Happy Motoring.

I still look at you as a trader for selling that Road Glide. I also do look for my 06 Venture when I'm out and about. Happy Motoring. LOL...no problem my friend. I was a traitor either way. I will miss many things about the Road Glide but I missed things about the RSV also.
SilvrT Posted April 28, 2016 #45 Posted April 28, 2016 What you've done here Don made me stop and think about all the money I've literally thrown away over the years on my motorcycles. I'm talking about the spent on "personalizing" ... safety chrome, performance mods, and various farkle items I've added to my bikes only to turn around after a few years and sell the damn thing ... get another, and start all over again. Must be some kind of "addiction"
pope3567 Posted April 28, 2016 #46 Posted April 28, 2016 We could have worse "vices", although I see it less as a vice and more of a passion. It keeps me somewhat out of trouble, and is an "addiction" I can live with (and so can the wife, so far). Ron

Ron ya, guess I coulda been a golfer ... prolly would have "thrown away" a lot more money
Freebird Posted April 28, 2016 Author #48 Posted April 28, 2016 Well tomorrow is the big day. My wife will drive me down to Cincinnati tomorrow to pick up the bike. Hopefully the weather will clear up a bit because it has been raining here all day and a bit on the cool side also. 45 and rain here right now so that will not be optimal weather. Either way, I'm riding it home tomorrow. Really kind of excited about it.
eagleeye Posted April 28, 2016 #49 Posted April 28, 2016 A new bike is always exciting, or at least it should be. It'll be great to have it at home I'll bet, and have a safe ride. Don't forget the rain suit.
cowpuc Posted April 28, 2016 #50 Posted April 28, 2016 OUTSTANDING Mr. Bossman!!!:clap2::dancefool: Prayers Up and Blessings Down as you travel the road of bringing home yet another AWESOME new scoot!! I got Fool all hog tied and his White Wash Machine unplugged so at least you shouldnt need snow tires:hurts:. I was up at 5:30am and thought there were a few snowflakes mixed in with the rain drops falling here. Headed south like you are and running a day later when you chase down that pretty black 2nd Gen with the white walls you should be in good shape as far as anything else being white. I share in your excitement Boss, thank you for including us in all the excitement brother!! WHAT A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ride safe my friend! Puc
