MikeWa Posted April 25, 2016 #1 Posted April 25, 2016 Crap. I twisted the bolt right off my riders seat. I seem to recall someone posting a fix for this. Guess I will just start searching. I hate riding around with a bolt on only one side. It makes the bike unbalanced. Mike
BratmanXj Posted April 25, 2016 #2 Posted April 25, 2016 I filled the cavity in the seat with 5 min epoxy and set the bolt back in place to let it cure.
Kirby Posted April 25, 2016 #3 Posted April 25, 2016 When you get it fixed put thumb nuts on it so you won't need a wrench any more. That way you won't be breaking them again.
XV1100SE Posted April 26, 2016 #4 Posted April 26, 2016 I broke my right seat bolt last fall too. From what I've seen....it is usually the right one that breaks. I'm thinking of sending my seat to Rick Butler in the Winter and have him replace the bolt when he does my seat.
jakester Posted April 26, 2016 #5 Posted April 26, 2016 My 2cents, Yes, I agree totally, with nylon thumb nuts. I did ride for a couple of years without the seat bolted down at all, it did just fine and nobody knew any different. It is not going to keep you from riding, however it should be addressed eventually. Bill
Condor Posted April 26, 2016 #6 Posted April 26, 2016 I hate riding around with a bolt on only one side. It makes the bike unbalanced. Mike Just remove the other bolt and you'll be in balance again.... Don't need 'm anyway..
