Lug Nut Posted April 21, 2016 #1 Posted April 21, 2016 I removed the visors from my passing lights and front turn signals....really like the smooth look. Also installed GE halogen passing lights and they are smooth and bot the "waffle" texture of the stock ones....and much brighter. I am replacing the headlight bulb and tail light bulb as well with Silverstar Ultras when they arrive...... So....how can I remove the headlight visor easily.....please don't say I have to split the fairing to do this! Thanks
RedRider Posted April 21, 2016 #2 Posted April 21, 2016 Yup, to do it correctly, you need to split the faring. It's easy to do though. Where in FtW do you live? RR
Lug Nut Posted April 21, 2016 Author #3 Posted April 21, 2016 Northeast sode....Dupont and Auburn roads
RedRider Posted April 21, 2016 #4 Posted April 21, 2016 I am going to be on the SE side for a short while on Saturday. Homestead High area (my folks live there). Once I leave, I am heading to Angola to visit a friend and then heading south. Going to Angola takes me right through that area. If you have 10-15 minutes, I would be glad to stop by and walk you through taking off the faring. It is pretty easy once you've done once or twice. Lemme know. RR
Lug Nut Posted April 21, 2016 Author #5 Posted April 21, 2016 Very cool and Tha ks for the offer. I just read the write up and it doesn't look bad at all....I'll probably do it tonight and remove the visor and leave the fairing open until I get my new light bulb as well....still waiting on clutch slave cylinder Soni can try out my new upgraded clutch...
Lug Nut Posted April 26, 2016 Author #6 Posted April 26, 2016 Got the fairing split and installed antenna inside fairing for radio and removed headlight visor and put in new halogen headlight bulb. Very easy to split the fairing, don't know why ibthought it was going to be a pain.
bongobobny Posted April 26, 2016 #7 Posted April 26, 2016 Fear of the unknown! We all go through it until we do it for the first time! Piece 'O cake, eh?!!?
